gro model? fro model? bro model? What are these things?

Splat hooked me up with these 179's with the new clear top sheet so I can test out their durability while I wait for my production model. If you are into clear top sheets you will definitely dig these things. You can see the wood core and the top sheet has a nice carbon look to it.

I took them out to Sugar Bowl today and broke them in and I was very impressed. They handled everything the day through at me from a foot of AM pow to wind scoured ice to late afternoon windbuff without a hitch. I can't wait to get back out on them!

I can't tell, are those the 99 waist or 114?

    They look like 179 stiffs

179 softs with a 99 waist. I am horible at flexing skis so I can't really compare them but they are definitely stiffer than my PR's that they are replacing.

I will have to try out you stiffs(god that sound horrible) to see if I can tell the difference.

    Thumbs up

What do you weigh? I felt like I was getting bucked a whole lot in deep crud yesterday (clear soft 179). Originally ordered stiffs, but I guess softs are all they had this round... ???

Anyway, point being splat is replacing the softs with stiffs largely due to the variable-snow performance. Glad to hear someone's enjoying them.

Edit: I will concur they are a touch softer than PRs longitudinally but CONSIDERABLY stiffer torsionally. I was skiing on 175 pocket rockets for the last 3 or 4 days of skiing before taking my BROs out for a test. Hard snow performance was dramatically better on the BROs, and the spatulation feel in soft snow is pretty cool.

I weigh 185 lbs but one thing yesterday didn't turn up was crud. Chopped up pow which they handled fine but no manky crud. What kind of crud gave you problems?
