    iPod question!!

This frustrating. I just dropped a dime on a new album off of iTunes, instead of hitting up the shadier intraweb spots. I am on my friend's computer, which I assumed was authorized for my account. I logged into my iTunes account on his computer and purchased an album. It downloaded into his library instead of mine (I made the incorrect assumption that if my iPod was plugged into his computer and I logged in using my account info, any downloaded music would copy onto my pod--wrong ). After trying to drag it into my iPod, I was notified that I had already authorized 5 other computers and had hit the limit.

So here I am sitting here with music in my buddy's library (which he cannot play because he cannot get authorized since I apparently have 5 computers authorized) and I cannot drag it into my iPod (same reason). They got my $$$ and the music is sitting in some sort of iPod pergatory.

I am assuming that I have to deauthorize a computer and then reauthorize his. Problem: I cannot deauthorize a computer that I am not connected to, nor can I even think of any computers that I authorized beside my work computer (which I will not deauthorize).

Any help would be great. The man is keeping me down.

if he has other burning software...you should be able to drag them there and make a disc...there are other ways that have some complication to them....search itunes support.

    bring cd home

I thought of those avenues as well but this damn computer is fucking me at every turn.

I just figured it out however. I logged into my iTunes account and then had the option to deauthorize ALL computers...which I did. Now it works but I have to reauthorize my work computer which is no biggie. Thanks guys.
I am just waiting to hear that some nerd has hacked the iPod/iTunes OS ware so I don't have to deal with this stuff anymore. That's what I get for actually paying for music.

Limewire is fucking retarded and worthless for getting complete albums at the same bitrate and at any decent quality.

    Learn what bittorrent is.

That doesnt surprise me one bit. I plan on getting the gf an iPod for Xmas and I would love to transfer my music but I know it will be a pain in my ass. Not looking forward to it.

And Likwid, my roomy has a great set-up for torrent. I don't know where my conscience came from earlier

Couple nights a week I make sure to clog the internet tubes for southern mass.

Find downloads during the day, fire off client when I head off to bed.

I had this happen to me. When you hit 5 authorized computers there is now a button that says "Deauthorized ALL computers associated with this account" Hit that.. BOOM.. no more computers are authorized and you can play it on his computer, at least until you deauthorize his computer.

As for ways to rip tunes without DRM on them... google cause I wouldn't no nuthin about no illegal tunes.
