I need a good mechanic in Summit/Eagle County CO

I don't know if it was my car passing 100,000 miles, driving from NC to CO, or the cold starts the car has had to do the past few mornings, but when I started up my car yesterday afternoon I smelled gas.

I popped the hood and there is some gas leaking into the engine compartment. If you have a WRX and look at the front left corner of the intercooler, it is leaking onto the silver casing underneath. I don't have my service manual with me, so I'm not sure which one of those are fuel lines, and it could be leaking onto the alternator, but I'm not sure.

Know any good mechanics in the area?

My 04 WRX did the same thing; the dealer replaced a couple of clamps under warranty - it seems as though there is a recall for _some_ Urabuses dealing with this, but the dealership I took it to considered it warranty work, above and beyond any warranty I have.

I took mine to Burt in Englewood, where I bought it. I'm indifferent about their service - what work they've done has been OK, but getting them to do it was always a chore. That said, everything I've brought there has been warranty work - the first one for a new engine. Naturally, they were not jumping at that opportunity.

An idle-air-regulator thingy died on mine last year; they kindly left the old one on top of the intake, carefully wedged between the hood and snorkel, to ensure it did not fall out.

So, not Summit/Eagle, but I'd at least explore the possibility of warranty/recall stuff for that - mine did exactly the same thing, at first, only noticable on COLD days (single digits F or lower), but it got progressively worse. It did not seem to affect how the car ran, mind you, and it went away once warm, but I kinda wonder if it somehow led to the early demise of my idle-air-thingy, too - don't know, but the idle-air bit seems to be somewhat uncommon.

    Give Spencer a call.

As for the $60 oil change, why the hell would you go anywhere else in Eagle Vail when you have Nick's right there?

Thanks for the help. I ended up finding a place in Edwards that found one of the clamps was loose. I did not have a problem with it today, but it was a little warmer, so it may have not been an issue.

I did have to go through an entire can of Febreeze to get the smell out of the car though.

    Not fun.
