ess var demo binding forward pressure

There's an arrow, but nothing to really line it up with. Anyone know the deal with these old bindings? They are mounted on some powder +s.

I believe the forward pressure screw is supposed to be flush with the housing. Not 100%, but that's what I remember.

I think the ESS Var was set correctly for forward pressure when the length adjustment screw head was flush with the housing. Its been a while though...

They're not indemnified, but the release mechanism is pretty simple.

Look closely for deterioration of the plastic, particularly in the housings and the toe/heel cups. If you see any, junk the bindings.

You'll probably want to get something newer, but if the bindings look OK, they'll probably be OK in the short term.

Maybe if someone clubbed you to death with them... They weigh about a million pounds. I've liked 'em in the past... (distant past...) but they kept me in, that's for sure. Popped out maybe once. And I seem to remember my forward pressure screw being flush, too.

If they came on your pow+, then they're probably an offset mount? I hated the offset mount, so I'm gonna put on a newer binding when I remount centered and pitch the essvar.

I did ski with the ess vars once to make sure I liked the pow+, the bindings worked fine although I never tried out the release.

Well they didn't blow up. I'm planning on mounting them tele, so the bindings will be scrapped, but I really wanted to try the skis out. I don't think I'm a fan of the offset mount. On anything hardpackish, it was very difficult to edge the uphit ski.

As for the skis, I put a bit of rocker in the tips and need to do the tails next. Best $40 I've ever spent on ski gear.
