    Powder in Albuquerque?

It started snowing yesterday, hard. Got 7" in 3hrs it was amazing and so were the people who were trying to drive in it. The nice thing about being in a town were it doesn't snow is that everything shuts down when it does.

So because it is snowing I get out of class a couple of hours early cool Also get a phone later in the night telling me that I didn't have to be in til 10 the next day. Next day I get up and this is what it looks like here.

As I am getting dressed to go to school I get another call saying class is canceled for the day. Roads are too bad to drive. So what do I do but drive to the top of the local peak where they have gotten 3ft of snow in places. The drive reminded me of AK.

So I put my skins on and away I go. No good ski pics to follow because I was alone and also because there was too damn much snow

This is not a pic of my skin track but a pic of me trying to get down. The snow was too deep and the slope was too gentle to get any speed at all. Oh well better than sitting in class all day.

As I was driving down I ran into these guys

Yeah I was at Sandia peak ski area. 7500ft runs with 1600ft elevation. Just stay away when it snows too much. They had the beginner lift open and they said will probably open the rest this weekend. Was amazed at how much snow fell in the last day.
