    new Patagucci wetsuits lookin' good

I just fondled the new Patagucci 3/3 fullsuit at the SF shop. Looks pretty nice.
It's about 95% lined with wool/capilene R1 and they say it is as warm as a 4/3 or 5/4. I didn't try it on so I don't know how it fits but if I could get 5/4 warmth out of a 3 flexy wetsuit that sounds pretty good, however I bet that lining would get funky after a pee or two.

The only drawback thus far is the price at $480!!!!! Holy poo that's a lot of money considering top o' the line other brands are usually around the $300 range.

I looked at those in the Cardiff shop and I wasn't very impressed with the 3/2's. They may be warm but they felt much thicker than my O'Neill or RipCurl suits. The neopreme didn't have much stretch to it. They were also around $450, which is pretty ridiculous.

If they are as warm as that, that'd be pretty cool for up north. Curious about durability. That's pretty shit on the newer flexy suits, ime. If they cost 1.5x but last 2x, could be useful.

cool info on that site.I'd also heard that their rubber should last a very very long time, plus if it doesn't their warranty service is bomber.
Progressive environmental choices are good for all of us, and for now that means spending a little more cash.
Interesting how that guys site didn't actually talk about how the suit performs or compares to others he's worn.

    TBski,

I made http://www.patagoniawetsuits.com and ended up talking about how the suit performs/compares in comments on the 70percent.org blog. It's interesting to hear that the suits are now being sold in San Francisco...

...and you lurk here and just happened to see that TBski posted a link to your site? Or this thread was sending a bunch of traffic to your site? Just curious.

welcome to TGR - you put a lot of cool info on that site.

    Hey Pope,

I'm not much of a lurker; I did a Google search for sites linking to http://www.patagoniawetsuits.com and this thread came up. Since TBski was interested in how the suit performs/compares, I went ahead and joined TGR so I could share the link to my comment on http://www.70percent.org// that touches on performance and suit comparison.

Thanks for the TGR welcome! I lived in Montana for three years a couple moves ago and hung out with a crew of guys from Wyo. They weren't Jackson guys though - all Sheridan boys. My liver's still recovering. Regardless, Wyoming's a great place, and I appreciate the welcome.

But... is anyone on this list even in Wyoming? It seems like a lot of West Coasters.

    Let 'em buck!

Might be worth checking the outlets for 'em around holiday weekend sale time...I've gotten tons of Patagucci stuff for more than 40% off at the Santa Cruz outlet....

the two year no-questions asked warranty and use of recycled/rapidly renewable materials are both big pluses- I'd rather have a $480 suit for two years than two $280 suits that just end up filling a landfill.

The Body Glove Water Repellent suits are the titts... saves you that added 15lbs of water weight you usually add. I have been super stoked with the fit and performance of mine. The rubber is pretty solid too, considering it is a half zip and almost as felxible as my old zipperless ripcurl.
