yeah well it doesnt really rain that much where im at. and yes it is a shitty time to be here. just in la paz last week. did a downhill bike trip. pretty fun stuff
I was near Bolivia last week (Juliaca and other parts of Puno+Arequipa province), but won't be actually entering the country any time soon.
If any mags need a place to crash in Lima, Peru just send me a PM...
how long will you be in lima? i think im going there in april
did you bring the bolivian tree lizards to Springfield?
This thread has gone surprisingly well so far..![]()
it would be going better if someone was in bolivia
Sorry I cant help you out.
I was in bolivia for a few weeks in 1998. Santa Cruz mostly and Vallegrande.
i think im going to santa cruz pretty soon. maby next week
no there but will be in Costa Rica late January![]()
There's a world out there full of color, dreams, and imagination. What are you waiting for?

If you show more cleavage they will come.
yeah but that plane ticket is pretty costly
Was in Bolivia in June.
Probably won't be back down to SA until June/July at the earliest... but if you're offering crash space in Bolivia and will still be around then, yea.
im not sure. just traveling, studying some. drinking way to much
Nice avatar PC. Any resemblance to you?
thats me
We are headed to Peru and possibly Bolivia in a couple months and have heard rumors that Bolivia may not be the safest place for US tourons. What's the scoop from those in the know, just curious.
its safe if your not stupid about stuff. like you just need to know where is safe and where isnt. and what to do and not to do
Probably didn't make the news in the U.S. but Peru just had 5 police officers and 3 civilians ambushed and slaughtered by Sendero Luminoso guerillas. The national police caught them and now the president (Alan Garcia) is calling for the death penalty.
I'm not super happy to hear about this shit in Ayacucho since I have to go there at least once a month, but it sounds mostly drug related - not political. I have never felt any danger during daylight hours in South America. Wandering through bad neighborhoods at night is a different story, but I wouldn't advocate going for a stroll in the S. Bronx, Watts, etc. at midnight either...
Powderchick: I plan to be in Peru for at least the next 6 months. Send me a PM and let me know when you might be in Peru. Right now, I'm working on projects in Cusco, Ayacucho, Huancavelica, and Ica, but living in Lima. Would love to get down to Bolivia for some hiking, but not sure if i'll have the time...
BP: are you planning on coming back to SA after graduation? I just met a girl yesterday that has a fullbright to work on debt for conservation swaps in the Peruvian selva. Sounded pretty cool.
