    Transportation from DIA to Steamboat?

I'm flying into Denver on January 3rd. I was planning on hitching a ride with a friend up to Steamboat for 2-3 days of skiing before heading back to Summit County and a nice 2 weeks of (skiing) vacation before school starts. Unfortunately he backed out and I'm scrambling to see if I can still make the trip. The only option for transportation that I have found is Alpine Taxi and Limo, which charges $150 round trip for DIA to Steamboat. Does anyone know of any other options?

I have not skied Steamboat before and want to give it a shot, but free lodging only goes so far when it's going to cost beaucoup bucks to get there.

I'll drive you if you buy me a lift ticket.

Have you checked on flights between Denver and Hayden? Probably too expensive, but maybe you could change your itinerary to fly there rather than DEN.

I would happily buy you a lift ticket if you were headed there on the 3rd and headed back on the 6th or 7th.

I already checked. The rickshaw doesn't run in the winter.

It doesn't look like CME runs regular service to Steamboat, but I will call them to double check. Car rental is just as expensive.

CME is fucking expensive, FWIW. $100/person (each way? I remember it sucking paying for getting to and from Summit county last year).

Wish I could help out, but I shall be incapacitated at that time. (Burritos... Ya dig?)
