its time to play, Guess Whats Wrong With Me

(and before you just tell me to see a doctor.... tomorrow is my day off and it is my sole mission in life tomorrow to find one.)

so i've been getting this really sharp pain in my left side/chest/ribs area. always in the same place. comes on real sudden like, and if i try to breath even normal, let alone breath deep, it makes the pain even worse. so i have to almost stop breathing or take super short super shallow breathes and just wait for the pain to stop before i can breathe normal again. it seems like something might be spasming or siezing or something. whatever it is, its not cool, and it's becoming more frequent and more painful.

a friend of mine says it sounds like asthma, or bronchial spasms associated with that and my mom says she had some weird lung thing when she around my age that they just gave her antiobiotics for.

anyone ever heard of or had anything like this before? do you guys think this could be related to moving from the east coast out to the mountains? a higher altitude kind of thing?

i'll report back after i find and see a doc.

It kind of sounds like a muscle spasm. If there's a little knot in your (whatever those muscles are over there), it might just flare up now and then. I had something like that in my back once, it'd be fine and then from out of nowhere it would be as if someone was sticking me with an ice pick. It only lasted for three years, though, so no big deal.

edit: and if that's not right, my next guess is that it's the black lung.

Concur with APK. sounds like a muscle spasm but difficult to tell, definitely worth the trip to see the doc for peace of mind.

try exhaling a lot. Sometimes CO2 can build up in your diaphragm area if you don't exhale fully a bunch of times. I used to get it playing soccer.

edit - I'm digging the fact this is in Tech Talk.

    very funny guys

i went to a doc today. she says i have pleurisy. for those of us non-medically-inclined people it sounds alot worse than it is i guess, like i'm losing fingers or something. it hurts WAY WORSE than it is too. and what it is, is an inflamation or irritation in the lining around the lung.

oddly enough my mother had the same thing when she was my age and had just moved to the city. so i have a couple prescriptions to take for a few weeks, ( not really a fan of taking meds) and if that doesn't help, they will have to shove a camera down my throat or something to make sure i don't have some weird hernia involving the stomache being all up in my esophogus' business instead of pleurisy.

so i guess it's not altitude related and my ribs are all where they should be.

This moving to the mountains thing seems to be roughing you up some.
I was sure it would end up being a rib a little out of whack.

Hope it clears up quick. I could think of better things to do then hunt down doctors.

By the way is this in tech talk because you're actually an android?

    mooorrrre than-meets the-eye

    i'm actually a transformer

and since we don't have a "med-talk," i figure pleural cavities seems pretty technical.

i'm gonna shut up and go skiing now.
