    PSA: Avalanche Awareness workshop in Reno 1/10-1/13

    Avalanche Awareness for Skiers and Boarders [SN104C]

    Protect yourself from the danger of avalanches while skiing or boarding in a winter backcountry environment. Familiarize yourself with all aspects of avalanches including activity forecasting, identification of potential danger, safety equipment, safe route selection and risk management. Skills learned in this class may help save your life.
    Wednesday, 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM; Saturday, 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM; 2 sessions starting January 10, 2007, ending January 13, 2007

    ^^^ Sounds like it would cover all the classroom aspects of the Avy I course I took -- only difference would be the outdoors "looking around at stuff" part.... not many avalanche-prone areas around Meadowood Mall.

    I say why put yourself in harm's way when you can just have an Orange Julius.

    No actually it's a 2-day seminar, on Wednesday, January 10th there's the classroom component @ TMCC Meadowood, and then on Saturday, January 13th there's a 9am-4pm day trip to a "Sierra location." Probably somewhere on Mt. Rose I'd imagine.
    Do you by chance happen to own a large, yellowish, very flat cat?
