Get off of technicalities Mr. Simpleton.

    Let me rephrase.

That's why there IS such thing as A draft. (and as others have pointed out, it's the year 2004, and there is no draft. And the sky is blue. And the Earth is round.....)Does that sit better with you? Give me a break dude....
Are you kidding? did you really think there was a draft?

Yes, of course Dexter, that is exactly what I said isn't it. Let's all be good little stepford citizens.

No, what you said actually made far less sense. I cleaned it up a bit.

They are wanting to draft you. Word is, Osama is gay. The government has inside info that you suck cock better than anyone else in the continental United States. The plan is to walk you through the mountains of Afghanistan to the sounds of Elton John. The military is hoping Osama will run out of his cave in hopes of blowing cum all over your face. Good luck....and thanks for serving our country!(and Osama)

Knowing that I have Dexter to clean up after me, I'll certainly sleep better tonight.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Fighting for one's country and fighting for an administration's separate agenda are two different things. Just a thought.

I'm sorry. I was under the impression that in a post 9-11 environment that any country that is proven to back terrorism (saddam was proven to reward the families of Palestinian suicide bombers with 25 G's) is a threat to us. I guess we could of just waited for them to enable some terrorist group to build and lob a Nuke at NYC to kill 3 million instead of a measley 3,000.

You're right, we should just hang out, hold hands and sing songs....

Nice, now you're putting words in my mouth? I made no mention of being passive, just how particulars are handled. My previous post was more of an overall rhetorical statement anyways.

By that rationale America would have atacked her own East coast. For nearly 25 years Irish Republican terrorists who killed other Irish fighters but mainly innocent Irish and British civilians (in their hundreds) were funded predominantly by East coast Americans (ahead of various other nefarious fund-raising schemes). At certain points in the "conflict" most of their weapons were even tracable to Boston and New York gun shops. Pretty cool, huh

do you consider this state-sponsered terrorism? i'll bet that if you looked hard enough you can find individual "americans" supporting just about anything, including al qaeda, the taliban, and so forth. it doesn't mean the US government is necessarily complicit in such activities. to what advantage would the USA have in supporting the IRA against Britain, our best ally?

That wasn't what I was suggesting. There are (apparently) lots of individual Muslims plotting against the US who are not state-sponsored and the US is still going after them. Strikes me that Bush's war on terrorism is not just against nations - it is against anyone who might be planning anything against the US or her citizens.

My interpetation (and Bush's) of Blurred's "any country that back terrorism" is any country that allows its citizens or residents to perpertrate/be involved in acts of terror is an enemy of America. The irony that America has been guilty this exact thing of that is all I was commenting on. Anyway, WTF was I doing commenting on something written by Blurred - I must be la-la

Yeah no worries join the National Guard, get money for college and get screwed by Dubya. My parents don't have enough money to send my brother to architechture school in New Jersey, so he joined the National Guard in Jersey to help pay for school. Well he has been in for 3 years now and this is the 3 time he has been called to duty. So dont think that the NG is the way to get money for free kids. One weekend a month, 2 weeks a year and whenever else we choose, should be their motto. Don't get me wrong my brother knew what he was getting into and doesn't regret joining. But it has royally fucked with his schooling, acutally making him miss one semester and having to finish another semester during the summer, luckily his professors were very cool about it. During his training last month they almost didn't let him out so he could go 15 miles up the road to go to his own graduation.

So right after 9/11 he was guarding the George Washington bridge, then last summer he was guarding Newark airport, and tomorrow he leaves for Baghdad. Not that he is in a huge danger, he is parts specialist, he works with mechanics, but the rest of his unit has been chosen for "convoy patrol" where they patrol stopped convoys while they do thier work. Funny thing is, my brother hasn't complained once, he has served without a peep. Ya wanna know why???? he loves his country, he doesn't like Dubya, he doesn't agree with the war in iraq, but he is going anyway. [end rant]

my thoughts are with you Marky.

it is your decision whether or not to sign for Selective Service, but its also pretty much a civil obligation.

Or you could go smoke dope in England and travel to places like Russia or maybe in today's liberal climat it would be cooler to travel to Afghanistan and party w/ Osama. Just to let him know that you don't agree w/ that damned Republican war. Dex your spewing makes me naseous.

The truth is sickening to you? You're such an idiot for implying there's something wrong with taking a Rhodes scholarship to England and travelling to Russia. Yeah, that's just like consorting with Osama.
I can't take this reflexive, ideological stupidity.

Let's not forget that ski bummin' in Switzerland is a perfectly acceptable way of dodging the draft.

What's sickening is that to you, NO MATTER WHAT a liberal does its okay. Slick Willy only did what he could to avoid serving his country. Its useless to argue w/ you though because you're a typical liberal. You're smarter that all of us and know what's best for us. Please lead the way to a perfect world.
