Maggots who like to hit the Beav.....

Looks like they are firing things up on Tuesday. Anyone going to be there? I can't decide if I will or not but could be persuaded to hit it.

I say hit it. I hit the beav as often as I can. Daily, if possible.

Well, won't be there Tuesday but if they get any decent snow this weekend I may skin up to check it out this Sunday for a small time. Once open I usually go every Sunday.

Will be there the 26th with 2P. His bday and we ride the Beav every year that day.

Saving vaca days for my HS/College buddies coming out last week of Feb.

Still looking a bit thin, but encouraging:

Yes, I think Sunday may be a good day to do this, pow on a groomer, won't hit rocks:

Will see what happens with this storm. The snowpack is upside down up here. So much water content.

Yet another mag who loves to hit the beav. Currently have a multi-use pass set up for several of them around here... If conditions are bad (skied out) @ one, it's just a short drive to the next...

    Oh, wait.

You're actually talking about a mountain.

Isn't this one of those situations where douched isn't necessarily bad? And Buzz, are you sure you're not talking about tagteaming??? That would be MAD street credz, yo. :winkalicious:

    Arrow

So me and 2P hit the Beav yesterday for a skin up to the top and a run down Stan's.

Holy weird snowpack. Going up the gut, we found a shallow pack if you are off the normal groomers. There was 2 inches of fresh on top of maybe 6-8" of hardpack, then you punch a pole through and a good 6" of HOLLOW under that. I was going to take pics, but it was 12 degrees at the base at 10am, gusting, snowing and half an hour later camera and iPod froze, no worky. Burr.

Stan's was fun, but different than anything I have ever skied or boarded. You could basically hear the hollow sound under your turns. But it held for us both all the way down.

Anything that got groomed crushed out the Hollow area. I would be careful off trail, it was a bit sketch yesterday. Be really careful of tree wells, they are hollow as all can be. I punched through just skiing by a small tree.

    Lift looks good!

Probably a safe bet if you want more than groomers.

That said, neither of us hit anything.

I've only been keeping half an eye on the Bear River snowpack, but apparently your ground was far from frozen when the snows came. I hate to say it, but the New England-style cure for that is liquid precip. An extra 36" of snow would do the trick; I'd settle for that.

Quick Question Hijack...I'm slipping out to CO next week for a couple days, and wanted to hit the Beav for a day. I gotta belive you can buy single lift tickets at the window, but I can't see that anywhere online...any confirmation on that and the price for a single.

Ty, $33 all day. Wow, would have thought they would go up from last year cause of the new (old Germ lift) lift.

Hopefully Nik and Kadeater won't be so frozen when they get back they could post what it was like up there.

Yes, I know this well, especially after what we saw punching through with our poles.

    I vote for the 36".
