    Snowwater Heli

Has anyone been to this place? Is it good, bad, what is the terrain like? Thinking about planning a trip in February. I've read a lot of posts about Valhalla cat skiing but, not much on Snowwater. Thanks

Awesome skiing and lodge. They like to show you the goods and have some awesome guides, especially Tim who is a world class climber and great guy. Here's a clip that shows a little of the terrain.

Also, a bunch of Anamoly was shot so there's some scenes in that if you've seen it. Awesome food and with the cat as a backup, if you can't fly, you still get some great skiing.

edit: Added this clip which is the promo clip for SnowH2O. It's on their website as well.

You should search biglines.com. There are a bunch of opinions on Snowwater on there.

I skied snowH2O on a cat weekend two years ago with two of the dudes they interviewed (John/Troy). Pretty sure they were regulars that are pals with Tim, the main guy running the place. I had a great weekend with nice fresh snow and lots of cat laps. It was so nice to score after the shitty shitty mid winter of that season. The terrain around the lodge is super nice steep glades all over the place. Great stuff!

here's some more open stuff. The tighter stuff gets nice and steep and deep.

I know what you're getting at Toby. Patric has something of a bad rep and some of it probably deserved. But we didn't have any issues or complaints and in spite of what he may or may not do that doesn't sit well with some people, the terrain and overall skiing there is hard to beat. I had a great time there and am going there next month again.

Tim's the lead guide and Patric is the head guy and a partner. Troy is a buddy of Patric's from Cd'A. John (Hutch) is a Spokane guy that has been up there a few times but isn't really one of Patpric's pals or a real regular. Kind of ironic but I was supposed to be up there then but we had rescheduled due to earlier avie conditions being off the charts and our reschedule conflicted with a meeting out of town I had to go to. Otherwise, we would have probably skied together when you were there.

I've got no horse in this race. I just know it's a hot topic over there.

This thread by powderpyg explaines the current expansion of Snowwater.

They are now heli skiing the South/Western Valhallas which makes the terrain about as good as it gets in the Southern Interior. I can speak for the terrain in that you definitely won't be dissapointed.

Good stuff. Thanks for the input...Keep it coming.

The place seems less expensive then a lot other ops in the area, mainly Mica Heli. I still wouldn't call it cheap.

Checked out biglines. Seemed like a lot of people complaining about local issues. Patrick seemed like a pretty nice guy on the phone.

Out of all the cat skiing ops around Nelson who would you recommend? It seems like Retallack and the Grizz look good. I think I'm going to try and parlay a cat skiing day and a Whitewater day on the trip and stay in Nelson.

You can do both at SnowH2O. Getting in and out for just one day (unless they fly to Nelson to pick you up) would be a hassle. I'd try and do both right there. Otherwise, do the cat day at Valhalla. It's close and great. Plus, since SnowH2O owns both, you can probably work some kind of better deal.
