    Solomon Driver plate

    I have a lead on some primo condi. old school Salomon DRS EQuipe 6-14. Never skied the driver plate. Good,Bad??

    standard 10mm lifter I think.

    lifter = more turny ski

    Its a full length plate so I guess my concern was how it will effect flex. Thanks Mntlion. Good setup or no?

    Do you mean the DR9 Equipe?

    That plate is a little higher than 10mm; it requires a special hole pattern. Your shop may or may not still have the required jig (its narrow as well).

    The idea of the DR plate was to damp ski flex. It did that by having an elastomer "spring" under foot; as the ski bent, the elastomer deformed. I never thought the effect was that pronouced when I skied them.

    Those are 997E bindings on top; the plate can be removed and the bindings mounted up flat. Do a search, I went through my experience with this exact binding a while back.

    Thanks Mechmaster! I think I will buy and remove plate.
