    Current A-Basin Conditions?

I am currently trying to rationalize a trip this weekend out to Summit County and specifically A-Basin (where I have a pass). Normally I can rationalize any sort of road trips, especially those that involve skiing. The odds are stacked up against this one though. I'm currently about 14 hours away and it would seem that the conditions may not warrant the trip. The East Wall and Pali seem to be closed.

To anyone that has been there recently, is there anything decent open? I have looked at the runs open report but it doesn't mean much to me. When I've been there I've skied the area under the Pali lift and the East Wall and never really bothered with run names. I've got a few days on my pass for Breck and Keystone, if either of those are okay now.

I've been reading all of the Colorado BC TR's, and wish that was an option, but I currently lack the gear and experience to do that.

I can't remember the last time east wall was open before January. Other than that, I have no idea on general conditions and can't help any.

the whole pali side is still closed per the website I don't think it is worth a 13hr drive right now....loveland though....

You know, Loveland ain't a bad idea. Apparently the Georgetown Inn costs $120/night for 2 people plus lift tickets. That could work... Is it possible to get to Loveland in most conditions from Georgetown or would I be relegated to trying to hike there a la Gosey?

The gears are turning. Any Chicago area mags want to tag along?

it is almost always possible to get there but getting gosey'd is always a possibility.

    -14 hrs?
just a little worse than a bad day on the 70.

there is a fair amount of decent skiing open-standard basin conditions- edgy snow with some land mines to keep you on your toes. all depends on how bad your jonesin.
