I can't make up my mind...

    I'm 6' 2", 210 lbs.

Will be ordering a pair of Bro 188's soon, and will mount them with a set of Freeride Plus.

But what flex??? Soft?, Stiff?, or Really Stiff?

    Astro-
With your size I would go with the stiffs. They turn real easy and handle high speeds well. If you're mounting freerides I assume you're going to be using them mostly in the BC. (Unless you're one of those super-extrem-o alta dudes who skis 100 plus days a year, in the area, always on a "backcounty" set up, just in case! )

The really stiff is just that, really stiff. I don't think the really stiff would make a great BC ski.

About a 50/50 split between the Wasatch backcountry, and the Alta front country.

    Right now, I'm on a BD Havoc/Freeride.

Only go super stiff if you have a screw loose and don't like to turn. My super stiff's are in the same category as my 193 iM103's. They love to go straight really fast and only come to life at gs speeds, too stiff to float well in powder.

Would like to ski a pair of regular stiffs and see how they feel.

How do you like the Havoc's? I'm guessing if those feel right you might even want to go with the softs, although at your weight the stiffs sound ideal if it was me. If you like a soft ski go with softs, if you want something firmer than the Havoc's go with the stiffs, but for a BC ski the Super's are probably overkill.

*Sigh* I wish I had the balls to buy a soft ski and find out what I'm missing. Inertia makes me stick with stiff skis, since I know I like them. Last year super stiff 188s, this year super stiff 192s.

I picked up a pair of 180 CMH Eplosives for touring skis this year and after several mixed inbounds and out of bounds days I am finding them too small and soft.

Now if I could just get Splat to press me a pair of 188's with a flat tail and just a bit softer than my 103's then I would have the touring ski I want.

Astro....shirk's right. The superstiffs are ultrahuevos boards. Shit, I like the soft for the ease of skiing them. But the stiffs are great all arounds.

shirk...that could happen in a month or two. I love the way you look on Bros.

I could certainly ho a set of bros.

The current pair don't play well as AT sticks especially with dynafits, the camber is a bit wacky on these ones.

Shirk - sorry those CMHs aren't doing it for you...they never really did it for me either.

They are good, but not perfect....just think I have been spending time on bigger skis and the 180's feel to small. I could ski them for the rest of the season and be content. I'll be keeping my eyes out for something else, or trade for some 190's. I did step into the 191 Movement Goliaths that Lee had out last weekend and they seemed really nice.

Contact 2P to try the stiff 188's. If you buy him a lift ticket I bet he would bring the 188 Stiff Bros he has with demo binders for you to ride at Alta.

Or wait for more snow and come up to the huge resort of Beaver Mountain and we will show you around our low angle mountain.

Ive got a pair of stiffs w/ demo bindings up @ Solitude you can ride anytime or grab at my house in Sandy if you cant bear to leave the scrubbing bubble holy land for a day . As soon as I get new bindings I will put a pair of demo bindings on my super stiffs. I have no problems touring w/ super stiffs even with Silvrettas and spindly chicken legs.
