Help - Rossi Elite Exp 1's

So i got a new pair of boots and took'em out for the first time the other night. They caused quite a bit of pain in the fore part of my foot (widest part, right before the toes). Any ways figure maybe since it was my first time out and them being new boots no big deal. Well i went home and tried them on again and notice the same pain. I completely unbuckled the boots and still felt the pain. My conclusion the boots aren't quite wide enough, but every where fit great.

I orginally thought they were heat moldable soles. Well i looked at the brochure more closely and started to question if they were. They say "CUSTOM AIR FIT LINER- Structure identical to the Total Custom Air Fit liner, excluding the tongue." I know the Total Custom Air Fit ones are. Anybody know for sure?

Then next question if they arent heat moldable, or if that doesnt fix the problem anyone have any suggestions on how to get some extra width wheather it be through shaving the inside of the boot shell or through another method?

    The obvious things first:

    - Use as thin a sock as possible. Synthetic "liner socks" that are superthin will work very well and if your current socks are thicker than those superthin jobs, you might find some room this way.

    - Buckles only need to be as tight as is necessary to keep your foot from moving around. While most people in here probably know this, it's worth saying just to be sure you're not over-cranking the buckles and needlessly compressing your foot side-to-side.

    - Address your pronation/supination foot alignment issues. A pronating foot will splay and widen at the ball of the foot and will get narrower and shorter if the arch is properly supported and the ankle neutralized a bit. There aren't many skiers out there who wouldn't benefit from a good footbed.

    - Give the boots some time to pack out. A good fitting boot usually is a bit uncomfortable when buckled in an unweighted (i.e. on the chair, walking around, standing up relatively straight) position for the first several days of use.

Now with all that said, Rossi's upper-range boots like the Elite Exp 1 are pretty narrow in the forefoot and can cause some problems if you address all the above issues and it's still uncomfortable. Depending on exactly how it's pressuring your foot, you might be able to address it with strategic adhesive foam padding, or it may require some liner boot surgery or perhaps a small punching of the shell. But address the basic things first.
