I'm SUPER proud of him. Definitely a David and Goliath type of story. Tom and one other guy against 30 High Power LA attorneys with unlimited money and resources. 188 counts out of 120 counts against the S. Army and the dirtbag molester. We'll see how the punative stroy shakes out, but at the very least the kids were vindicated and they know that their pain doesn't just amountto nothing.
When you're feeling down, just remember: It's always darkest before it goes pitch .... fucking.... black.

While I doubt they got what Laseranimal wished upon them, hopefully they will serve some time for that. Fuckers.
Congrats to your bro, hope his plumbing woes are behind him, and he's in better surroundings for the work he did/does.

I've concluded that DJSapp was never DJSapp, and Not DJSapp is also not DJSapp, so that means he's telling the truth now and he was lying before.

Minister's molestation victims given $427,000
ABUSE: Jury declares Cleland Trickel, Salvation Army liable.
By NICOLE TSONG
Anchorage Daily News
(Published: February 17, 2004)
A Kenai jury awarded nearly $430,000 in damages to four girls sexually molested by a former Salvation Army minister at its Kenai church in a verdict returned Monday afternoon. The jury also declared the minister, Cleland Troy Trickel; his wife, Debbie; and the Salvation Army responsible for their abuse.
The jury, which deliberated for five days, ruled in favor of the plaintiffs on all but one claim. The plaintiffs in the civil trial include three sisters, now ages 19, 16 and 13; their mother; and another 13-year-old girl. They sued the Salvation Army and Trickel in 2001 not long after he was sentenced to 31/2 years in prison for a conviction of second-degree sexual abuse of a minor.
Still to be resolved is whether the girls will be awarded additional damages during a punitive phase of the trial. Attorneys will begin arguing that Wednesday.
"Everyone feels again a combination of pride and relief these girls hung in there as long as it took to establish what happened to them," said Tom Owens, a plaintiffs attorney. "I'm obviously very pleased the jury found what they did. More important than anything they could award my clients is telling them through the verdict they believe what happened."
During closing statements, defense attorneys argued that two of the girls were lying about their abuse and that the girls and their attorneys were exaggerating the degree of emotional and mental anguish they suffered.
But the jury agreed with the plaintiffs that Trickel, 47, molested all four girls and that the former minister, his wife and his organization caused severe emotional problems for the girls. The jury also found that Debbie Trickel and the Salvation Army were negligent in the way they responded to allegations against Trickel.
The only plaintiff who received minimal damages from the jury was the mother. The jury awarded her $1. The four girls were awarded damages for past and future economic loss ranging from $37,750.81 to $149,853.60. Altogether, total economic damages amount to $427,091.
Attorneys on both sides have said they believe this was the first case involving sexual molestation in the Salvation Army that has gone to trial in Alaska, and perhaps even in the Christian organization's Western territory.
The trial lasted more than two months and involved dozens of witnesses, including the girls involved and Troy Trickel.
Jenni Ragland, spokeswoman for Alaska's Salvation Army, said she could not comment because the jury is still considering punitive damages.
During the trial, plaintiffs attorneys argued that the Salvation Army knew of a previous allegation of molestation against Trickel when he was posted in Kake but still moved him to Kenai in 1996, where he molested the girls, then between age 7 and 13. Attorneys also said that Debbie Trickel knew about the allegations but didn't report them.
The Salvation Army argued it wasn't legally responsible for Trickel's sexual molestation and said claims were being exaggerated or made up to get money. Jurors found for the Salvation Army on only one issue, that the organization maintained the church building reasonably.
In no way was I making light of the seriousness of the incident nor the righteousness of Tom Owens serivce to the community. Karma will reward him handsomely.
