I've had good experience with BD gloves - but I know others who wouldn't use them to wipe.

The Glissade glove is my fav - thin enough to have some dexterity, warm enough for just about all but the most frigid days.

Yeah, as bossass said, my Cloudveil Troller gloves have about 70 days on them, are super packed out, and definitely not as warm as they used to be. With how packed out they are they get sodden and it reaches your hands pretty quickly. I'm pretty disappointed with them.

I primarily use some TNF Gore-Tex XCR ice climbing gloves, and these things seem absolutely bombproof. I tricked a guy at the TNF store in PDX into giving them to me straight up on a warrenty exchange, so I don't even know how much they cost.

i use black diamond patrol gloves or kinko cold weather gloves for everyday, for the cold as balls days, i put a large wool mitten over a pair of the gloves mentioned above.

I think this is what my above said Chinourds turned into over the course of the BD mega-merger era.

Not in my experience. 100 days of patrolling and skiing and mine are completely shot. I still like them enough, and they are relatively cheap enough that I just bought another pair.

I also bought a pair of Patagonia Work Gloves last week. They lasted 7 days... The seams started coming apart. I got new ones no problem, hopefully I just got a bad pair 1st time around.

All durrability claims related to seasons are totally bogus unless you say what kind of season we are talking about. Number of days please. Most fundamental issue here. I had a pair of gloves, bout $45 or so(can't remember the brand) lasted 4 years... because I skiied all of 20 days in them and didn't use them much when I wasn't.

Go to a tack store and buy deerskin thinsulate lined made for winter ranch work. They are super durable, very warm and still have excellent tactile feel. And they are cheap. I used to bring this to Europe and sell them to all my Euro ski buddies. They are the only glove i ever use and I ski the Canadian Rockies.

I go through at least 2 pairs of gloves per year. Right now I'm using the Cloudveil Troller gloves and I'm happy with them. They packed out after only 10 or so days of skiing, but they are still warm and keep my hands dry. Starting to show some wear though. Will be interesting to see how they hold up.

Another vote for the Cloudveil Zero-gs. I didn't even know that's what they were called but I scored a pair for free.99 last year. Figured they'd be a nice springtime glove (thin/not warm looking) but I haven't yet had a day I couldn't wear em. And it was F in cold 2 weeks ago in CO. They show no signs of wear and they got used alot...

Damn good point. I'm sure not gonna buy gloves based on someone's recommendation that only puts 25 or so days per year on them.

I'm on the second pair of the Swany's in two seasons (around 120 days per season). Even with pro prices, I hate gloves being in shreds halfway through the season.

Can anyone comment on how waterproof the leather gloves like the Kincos are when you snoseal them?

I tend to go thru gloves pretty quickly so I would really like to get a pair that lasts (I think I've used my current pair only 25 days or so and the fingers are already spliting). But I am worried about using them in the PNW. At the end of the day, my gloves are usually fairly wet (Dakine Bronco GT for the moment). I am going to have to replace my current pair in the next few weeks. I do like my current gloves, but if I could get something to last longer AND be completely waterproof I would be pretty happy. Also looking at the Hestra Vertical Freeride....but the Kinco is $100 cheaper, so would prefer to go that route.
Seriously, this can’t turn into yet another ON3P thread....

I ordered a pair of Kincos to try out this weekend on a hut trip. I am going to waterproof them and will report back though Colorado isn't as wet as the PacNW.

Nope... apparently I have set a new record. The warranty gloves I got on Saturday started to blow seams on Sunday... Beat that.

These are $120 CDN gloves at MSRP. I am bringing these back as well.

Trying some Hestras this year. Like them so far. Warm. But the real test doesn't start until spring. Then, its good not to be a glove.

Just wanted to give another thumbs up for the cabelas pinnacle glove. Only negative is the non removeable liner. They put them on sale every couple of months if you keep checking.

Stop masturbating with them on - that'll add at least 25-30 days to their longevity.

I'm in a Hestra mitten right now...I love them but I've probably only put about 25-30 days on them. My index fingers get extremely cold due to poor circulation and I haven't had that problem once I went to the Hetra's. A little pricey but I have found it worth it so far.
Just ski down there and jump of a somethin' fer cryin' out loud!

I have a pair of the Cabela's Pinnacle Goretex gloves. They're just so-so. They were really warm at first, but after 30 days or so, they're breaking down and not nearly as warm -- now they're good for typical everyday Tahoe weather, maybe 20 degrees+. The leather on the fingertips is wearing out quickly too.

But for $25, I got my $ worth. For $50ish... keep looking.

I have always had good luck with this glove waterproofed, but the Teton snow, not so wet. I also re-waterproof a couple times per season. And oh so cheap.
