    Front Range Tour (Saturday)?

Looking to ski tomorrow; thinking Jones Pass area. Not sure how the snow will be, but would be nice to get out for a long walk and hopefully find some decent snow.

I can affirm to you that anything near and above treeline will be wind hammered and a death wind crust. There are some sheltered coolies that have good cold soft snow, but be weary of avy threat. The trees lower down will have the best snow. Seek out the most sheltered trees

Gotta go back to Chicago tomorrow to take an exam Monday, will be back that night. How did your 100 mile bike race go this summer?

Good luck with the exam; we need to hook up for some turns while you are around over the break. The race was tough; I only finished the 100K, so about 60 miles and 9,000 feet of climbing. Pretty spent after that....to finish the 100 miler I need to get faster, less time on the bike the better. Still the biggest day for me and it did elevate my riding.

Thanks for the info on the snowpack; I was up last weekend things were good, but it is still pretty thin. Can't bike either....so just trying to avoid going to the gym.

100k is still quite impressive. If the weather is nice, which it should be, the tour will be worth it. I went up Butler Gulch yesterday and while the turns were not the best, the skin was a good work. We will definitely get to make some turns while I am here.
