Snowbasin Resort Unveils New Avalanche Rescue Training Center
On Saturday, December 9, 2006, Snowbasin will unveil its new Avalanche Rescue Training Center (provided by Wasatch Backcountry Rescue) and the “Are You Beeping” and “Stay On Top Of It” public awareness campaign.
Snowbasin Resort and Weber Country Search and Rescue personnel will be providing
Avalanche transceiver location training at no charge. Join us for a morning of learning, honing your skills, and interacting with rescue professionals.
Mike Jenkins, Manager of Ski Patrol and Snow Safety at Snowbasin indicates the best way to become proficient with your beacon is to practice, practice, practice.
Don’t miss meeting Maggie, Snowbasin’s new Search and Rescue puppy and other Snowbasin and Weber County Rescue dogs.
Starting at 9:00 and ending at approximately noon.
Location- Snowbasin Resort -North of the Ski Patrol Dispatch. Wear warm clothes. If you have a beacon bring it along or Snowbasin will provide you with one.
Best parking is in the lower lot and walk up.
