    Monarch, Colo. BC?

Sarah and I will be down there for a day of skiing this weekend. Looking to hit some backcountry in the area with a turns over tour emphasis.

Culling the maggot collective for specific recommendations, as we aren't too familiar with the vicinity. Feel free to pm me if you don't want to broadcast your stash.

How's the snow pack down there across the elevations?

Thanks much in advance, and we will be more than happy to reciprocate with recommendations or beer here in ECo., or pay your bar tab in Salida Sat. night at the Vic.

It's still a lil' thin but doable. Bring fats & maybe some armor. Need to stay high and close to the divide. Below ski area elevation it disapears. Try snowstake (1st bowl on E side - 1/2 mile below summit), it's short but generally good for laps. Not sure if there is enough off the gunny side from there but you can always duck back to the E before the saddle.

Not sure if I'll be BC or at ski area between work sessions.

not sure what they have open, but the mountain is offering free skiing to all comers on Monday. They want a non-perishable food item, so PACK THE HORMEL.
