Salomon 912 Screws?
This is an old problem that I have just become fed up with. I had some 912s warrantied back in like May, and they came to me on plates (long screws), and I wanted to flat mount on some 179 public enemies--1.5 cm back from center for a 303 BSL, precisely.
I had a friend give me the screws from some old ass Solly binders (not even sure what model) that dimpled the bases in the current holes, which are dead center mount for a 315 BSL. Since I want to re-mount anyway, I'd like to try to get a hold of some appropriate screws.
Not sure the easiest route to get the correct length. I could A) figure out the exact sizes and just buy them at the hardware store. B) semi-freehand grind down current screws. C) continue indirectly begging Salomon for a full set of screws (not as easy as it sounds). or D) take a shot in the dark and see if a maggot has a spare set of 912 screws I could buy.
I tried talking to the salomon rep at Christy Sports, more than once, who said it would be very hard for them to get me just a set of screws. Not sure why. Larry suggested I grind them down, but that seems pretty imprecise. Schral, I can't remember what you said a while back, but I remember it being discouraging.
If you guys have any suggestions, specifications on screw sizes, a number to call to order screws, or screws yourself, I would be much obliged.
Thanks for the help.
