    Funny Post over on Epic

"I am new here and have enjoyed reading your posts for the past couple of weeks. But anyways here goes, I bought a new pair of Atomic SX=10 last years model. They are green and blue and are shaped skis. My question is should you always put the same ski on your right leg, and the same ski on your left leg? I've been skiing for years and recently moved further up North. So my old ski shop always put A huge R for right leg and the other ski was for the left leg. Does it matter with Atomic SX=10, because there is no sticker to tell which ski goes where? Skied them all last year and no problems but always wondered if it did. Because it makes sense to me that each shaped ski is exactly the same so it shouldn't matter or mess up my skiing right. I just want to find out the logistics of this matter please help! Thank you very much, your local unemployed ski bum!"

Lots of folks tune their skis so that there is a definite left and right. I know that I do that some days when I get to the hill and it's icy and I'm in a rush to get back out there and get after it. Just sharpen those inside edges really quick and you're good to go.

Something tells me that that's not what this guy is getting at, though.

I used to have the black Rossi scratch BC's. I would always put them on so the two girls were face to face. Nothing to do with how they skied, I just liked the asthetic and it prompted nice thoughts while staring at them on the lift...

That's a legitimate question with a legitimate answer, so the joke's on givebackbloom.

Yea looks that way. I never thought it mattered which ski you put on which foot.

    Time to jong myself.

also, if i remember correctly, some older atomic race skis had a defined L and R because of their construction........and in racing, some use tip deflectors in slalom so again L and R matter, but it has no real relevance to most.........

I do the same with my Big Troubles, so the scary ghost face goes together. My OCD would not allow otherwise.

Sharpest edges go on the inside, repaired core shots/ edge damage goes on the outside. Rinse, repeat.

I put the red ski on the right and the blue one on the left. Guess I've got OCD, too.

With the Gotamas, I'm not sure what to do. Is the one with "Volkl" on the top sheet for the right or left?

    Agreed.

I tend to always ride my skis with the same ski on each foot, and when shit gets dull, I'll flip-flop em.

They did however make skis where it did matter. Legit question.

Remember (early 90's) those Dynastars that had one edge with slalom sidecut and the other GS sidecut? I can't remember the name but those would apply to his question I guess.

I ski my first-gen scratch BC's so that the naked ladies face each other. It wouldn't seem right if I had two naked ladies and they weren't all up onz.

Volkl made a P20 (cs?) that had sl and gs sidecuts so you could flipflop the ski.
Atomic 10:26s were asymetrical and had a definite left and right as well.

I do the same thing. Makes intuitive sense. I think GBB should switch his shoes for awhile.

For me, it is pretty much a MUST, right ski has a 5/8" lift and the left has none. Flip-flopped would REALLY exaserbate the 5'8" difference in leg length....
