cool not epic but cool.
LET IT SNOW
looks fun man
you should blow off school and get some weekdays off
sorry to hear about another sewage problem
Sweet. I've cleared that weekend too, the only problem is that I can't get out of work til 5, and the most convenient and cheap flight to SLC is at 6:40. That just might be cutting it too close with the LA traffic, but I'll work something out.
Right now it looks like there are 2 storms in the Pacific but they're getting pulled up into the PNW. Flying there is more expensive then SLC or DEN so hopefully the jet stream will cooperate with my wallet.
VJ, looks like you're taking good advantage of your one off day a week.
That's a ballsy line around this time of year.
I heard of folks getting arrested for skiing those last year. Does anyone know what the real situation is? Are the legal to ski if you don't enter from Breck? Nice pics though, looked like a really fun ski. And yes, lots of exposure to whatever may be lurking overhead, you'd really want to time those right.
They're totally legal to ski, but you have to leave Breck from a BC access gate to get to them or climb straight up them to avoid arrest. It's the rope ducking from Breck that gets people in trouble.
I've skied the S from the access gate at Breck and ducking a rope to get to it really wouldn't save you much time (if any). I can't remember exactly how long it took to get to the summit of peak 5 from Breck, but I think it was at most 2 hours.
Thanks Robo. I seem to remember a story of a posse waiting at the bottom as the badguys hid in the trees in one of the chutes. I think they even used a helicopter. Seems like a lot of effort if they just ducked a rope. Any rate, those chutes have moved up a few notches on my must ski list.![]()
No problem. One of those guys in that story you heard actually posts here. I'm sure he can give you the play by play if he wants to but from what I remember there were slides involved with that group and I think they were mostly worried about having to pay for SAR to come out, even though they called Copper Patrol and told them they were fine after the slide. I think they ended up paying a small fine, but avoided the "rescue" costs since they never really needed to be rescued. I could be wrong though cause that story was a little complicated.

Ahh, you're right, it's coming back to me now. Sometimes I think I just make this shit up as I go.Farking old age. I still want to ski those things. Which is best if you could only do one? S looked sweet, and I always liked S's. Kinda have a thing for Y's though too.
did a couple laps on the one to looker's left of S today - nice pow on a springlike day.
collided with a submersible causing an impromptu double ejection superman > helmet snowplow. the austrian judge deducted half a point for shrieking like a little girl.![]()
