Are we sheep floating in the water or do we have a boat? And what good will a World War I Flying Ace or a Spanish sea captain do us, especially if we don't have a boat?

Ok, enough is enough....did you really have to bring the scariest picture ever released on TGR back from the dead? That's one hell of an anti-jinx.

Friday..Cloudy With A Few Flurries. Alpine High Minus 2. Snowfall Accumulation 5 To 10 Cm. Freezing Level Surface.
Mountain Top Winds Southwest 30 Km/H Gusting To 50.

5 Day Trend..A Series Of Low Pressure Systems Will Bring Snow To The Area Over The Weekend And Into The Early Part Of Next Week.

Extended Forecast For Whistler - Blackcomb.
Saturday.. Periods Of Light Snow. Snowfall Accumulation 5 To 10 Cm.
    Freezing Level 1500 Metres.
Sunday.. Snow. Snowfall Accumulation 15 To 20 Cm. Freezing Level 1000 Metres.
Monday.. Snow. Snowfall Accumulation 10 To 15 Cm. Freezing Level 1250 Metres.

Still looks good, but we seem to have lost a lot of the snow since they last forecasted. Why does this always happen? The way things are going by Saturday we'll be getting flurries at best...Maybe the storm will get you guys down south after all! We can never get enough up here, so bring it on.

what is of real interest is currently over Kamchatka. That is a pool of serious cold air and the models are expecting at least a piece to phase with that strong jet in the middle of the Pacific as it consolidates and heads towards the west coast.

What would be an ETA on that Kamchatka system?

Yes indeed. Even Snyder at NOAA is starting to get psyched.
I FEEL COMPELLED TO LOOK BEYOND THE FORECAST PERIOD TO NEXT WEEKEND.
THERE IS EXCELLENT GFS ENSEMBLE AGREEMENT THAT THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST
MOISTURE TAP WILL MOVE SOUTH INTO OUR REGION AS A COLD EASTERN
PACIFIC TROUGH MOVES INLAND. WITH COLDER AIR FILTERING INTO THE CWFA
WITH THE TROUGH MOVING SOUTH/INLAND...AT LEAST THE SIERRA MAY
FINALLY BE IN FOR A GOOD DUMPING OF SNOW. STAY TUNED...AS DETAILS OF
ANYTHING 200+ HOURS AWAY ARE SPECULATIVE.

I should caution every Coloraggot looking at this forecast that the local guys still are painting a very uncertain picture regarding the handling of these troughs. The models are not giving them much to work with in respect to any sort of run to run consistency. They seem tentative to paint any widespread pops and it may take a couple of days for the inconsistencies to settle out.
