In the lure of future snow for the alps, and me moving to Switzerland in 26 days and 10 hours, I thought I would post my first TR from this past March in Switzerland.
We went to the Interlaken areas, specifically Grindelwald and Murren.
And then proceeded down to Zermatt to ski there and Cervinia in Italy.
We went in beginning/Mid march which all of you Euro Mags know was a huge dump 1-2 meters in some places. We arrived about a day after the storm cleared. We couldnt have timed it better if we tried!
Grindelwald village
Avalanche across the valley up in Murren(notice the hang glider)
Top of the Schilthorn.
My Dad getting some turns under the lift at Murren
Yet another(Very large) avalanche WAY WAY across the valley. These both were naturally triggered.
The awesome Village of Murren, if you get the chance, go there, its in the middle of nowhere and getting there is half the fun...
No description needed(Zermatt)
We got a guide and took a tour from klein Matterhorn down the gornegrat glacier and the one that goes up to Monte Rosa. This was Miggy our guide.
HE HAS CLIMED THE MATTERHORN ~95 TIMES!!!
Getting to a part of the Glacier we could ski
I guess we can ski this hah
My cousin getting some turns
Thats me under the tail end of the glacier. The year before I was there it was about ~15 meters lower, point being, the glaciers are melting, and its weird to see...
From atop Klein Matterhorn with Mont Blanc in the distance, but that village WAY down there is actually Cervenia(Way down bottom right corner).
Ski into Italy for a some wine and sandwich
