    WTB ipod

    cheap, not shuffle.

thats about it. It is just for music in the truck. so size, large Gigs, or video, and vintage doesn't matter

you can find 10 gig and 15 gig's with broken screens on ebay for around $100. I was going to do that until I read something UAN wrote about having his ipod die just from bouncing around in his truck.

sorry, I assumed you were using the same setup as me. having the screen work might be an issue for you.

i have an alpine HU with a USB cable that runs from the HU into the ipod and I control everything from my HU. no need for me to ever touch the ipod.

    sorry to waste your time

Apple's store has them certified refurbished for about half the retail (depending on the model) with 1 yr warranty shipped free. Got my mini off there, it was basically brand new, open box return.

mtnlion.....i have the same style ipod and you can buy any of the replacement parts you need on ebay. The parts are so easy to replace, and it sounds like in your ipod you might just need to buy a new battery and pop it in. They sell thems at frys and on ebay.

Mine took a shit a few weeks ago; ponied up for a new 80gig... but I took my old one apart... and I have pieces if you need 'em, mntlion. it's not your gen, though. It's the 4g, I think... but your screen might be the same... anybody know this?

and did you try resetting it? not sure what buttons you hold for your model, but... that would be worth it.

if the deal with cj doesn't pan out, i've got a 20gb that's the same generation as yours. my only beef with it is that the battery only last about 20 minutes when it's cold out, but that apparently won't be an issue for you.

i'd be very interested in trading my ipod and some money for one of your m1 beacons. let me know.
