Not the same place. Its about halfway between the Cliff Lodge and Alta. I'm guessing a quarter mile walk from the Cliff. Maybe a little more. Shuttles run the loop between Alta and the Cliff Lodge about every 15 minutes. So you would still end up moving if you want to stay in Gordy's room Fri & Sat. From the looks of things there are at least 8 people who were looking to stay in the canyon so far. 8 in that room of Gordy's room would be, uhm... snug, 4 would be fine and 6 may be OK.

^ I see. Well I would be in for Hellgate for all 4 nights if there is still room, since Gordy's room sounds like it might be a tight squeeze. I mean, I love you guys and all, but there are just some things I won't do on a first date.

That was my thinking also. Last year we had 6 in a larger unit and it worked fine. But with fewer beds, only one bathroom and about 25 people there for apres and video review, it could be a bit much.

    AND NOW DETAILS DETAILS

I've got a reservation in at Hellgate condos for Thurs-Sunday nights. A minor detail is they would have to move us from one unit to another after Friday night. Both units can accommodate 6-7 with floor space for up to a couple more. They have their own van that shuttles us down to the Alta or Snowbird in the morning and can pick us up at the end of the day. Since they have to switch rooms on us they have agreed to hold the reservation for a couple days before I have to commit to the deposit. If any of you who have so far staked your claim have any issues with this please post them now. As of today I have Grange, LBSki, Daywalker & Joey Joe Joe with tentatives from StroupSkier & TacomaLuv? If I hear no objections I'll book it and then follow up with everybody via PM.

OK, we have 7 confirmed. Total cost will be $258/pp unless we need to roll in an extra bed. I guess they charge $25/bed if we need them. I'll confirm all those details tomorrow.

Between getting this done and all the TR's posted lately I'm really getting amped up. And it's been effin raining here for two days. The grass is turning green again. Unless a BIG storm blows through here next week I won't ski until at least January 3rd. FUUCK!! One way or another I'm getting some in January. Storm + last minute deal = my ass on a plane west. Daywalker, if you try to round up another road trip let me know.

Thanks to everyone for the quick responses.

Maybe not quick, but I'm confirming again. After fighting freezing rain on the highway for 4 hours I needed this good news. I'm probably going to head up to Marquette Mountain on Wednesday to ski. I need to get my legs under me before the trip.

Big thanks to WhiteHunter. This is going to be fun.

Sorry I came to this thread so late. I am getting in Thursday night, around 8:30. I was just going to grab a cheap motel out of the canyon that night, then stay in Gordy's room Friday and Saturday nights. I have to fly out Sunday evening. I haven't thought about transport yet, may just rent for the three days, or bus it. If anybody wants to share a motel room or rental car let me know.

Here is a link for tickets I picked up from one of the other maggot camp threads. I have never been to Alta or the bird, and do not know what the ticket options are, but I put this up in the hopes it will help.

If anybody has floor space on Thursday night, I would be happy to help off set costs, otherwise I will just stay in Sandy for that night. (any beta on places to stay for one night in Sandy?)

I have absolutely no clue when I'm showing up or leaving, or where I'm staying, but I'm REALLY excited for the camp!

Except that I haven't done shit (relatively speaking, for me anyway) for weeks now, and I'm afraid I'm going to have my ass handed to me because of it, but eh, I'm still super psyched!

    See you all there!

Yoss, I'm driving out Thursday afternoon sometime and will be coming back Monday afternoon. If you need/want a ride once you get your plans figured out we could meet in Glenwood or something. I never mind roadtrips but it's always nice to have a copilot. Just let me know whenever.

And Whitehunter your check went in the mail on Saturday

WhiteHunter - Your check is in envelope with your address in my car which is three blocks from here. I will affix a stamp in the morning and send it on its merry way. Cool hooking up with you in Utard weekend before last. If I can ever figure out how to edit my helmet cam video I'll piece together some footage for you - especially that last air you pulled at the tail-end of Baldy Shoulder. I'll also include my "adventures in topiary" segment.

Uhm.. you could exclude the last "air'. Really, I'd be OK with that. It really was kind of lame compared to the bush anyway. Was great that you could make that trip. Kill it in Cham. Keep the knee(s) in one piece.

I was planning on staying at the cliff lodge, but so many folks have jumped ship for the condo that it has become pretty spendy. Does anyone want to regress their plans back to staying at the Cliff? according to Mrs. Srt8line it's only me gordy and one other person at the Moment...Cletus?

    uh, remind me again?

It's only for Fri and Sat night, true?
And if I got in on it, it'd be how much for me per night?

So, I dunno if others are still checking this thread, but here's my understanding as of right now. Please correct me if wrong?

WhiteHunter, Tacoma, Joey, Grange, Daywalker, LBSki, and Stroup at the Hellgate condos ($258 per person for Thur-Sun nights). 7 total people, 7 sleeping spots (extra beds/cots at $25 per). Stroup may be local for the month, Joey is driving in from Aspen, everyone else flying in; a couple may be around before and after.

Hev and Hutash at the Cliff, for Friday and Saturday nights; local lodging as needed otherwise. Both flying in Thursday eve, leaving Sunday eve. The suite at the Cliff is also the same place where the after ski-day activities take place (is that right?). $400 per night for the room (according to this thread?), which makes it $200 per person per night right now (?).

Hev and I have discussed getting a car, as we both have pals in the area and may want to be mobile - Hutash, it sounds like maybe your timing would work well with ours if you want to get in on it too? I'm coming in Thur AM and leaving Mon AM, so I can pick up and drop off. 3 people and gear is probably more than enough in one vehicle.

Now it sounds like LBSki can't make this camp, so his spot in the Hellgate is or was at one point available. So the Hellgate has 6 people right now, unless someone else has taken it. If $400 per night is correct for the Cliff, if I stay there in the Cliff suite with Hev and Hutash, we'd be at $133 per night. Is this right? Way back in another thread, I thought Gordy said it was $400 per night with tax, minus the amount he'd chip in for using the suite for apres activities, which was $300. If that's still the case, it's $125 per person per night right now, and would be $85 per person per night if I jump in? Eh, either way, it sounds like mebbie I should stay at the Cliff? Hellgate is pretty full, Cliff is pretty empty...

    Thoughts? Corrections?

are you flying or driving? i get in to SLC Thursday at 11:00am and fly out Monday at 4:30. I figured I would just take the shuttle/bus from the airport, but if anyone wants to give me a ride I will give you gas money and company

was going to make a road trip out of it, but since conditions are a bit ... sparse, I decided to fly instead.

Coming in Thur AM, around 9:30 or so.

Tell you what...I'll get a rental cah, pick you up, take you up canyon; we can ski a bit and/or drop you off, then I can come back down and get Hev and Hutash Thur PM, and we boyz can stay in SLC Thur night with friends/enemies, then do the Cliff Lodge thing Fri/Sat nights. I can drop them back off at the airport Sunday eve and stay with friends/enemies in SLC, come back up for a Monday AM tour, and then take you to the airport. Might work.

Only thing is that my flight out is 1ish, yours is 4ish. I just made the booking, so I could see if I can move mine to later, but otherwise you'd have to leave early or take a shuttle down for your departure.

Somewhere in there I have to see my pals up in Park City too, or I'm gonna get a lot of shit for being in state and not saying hi. Hmm..
