I have 32000 miles that I'll use to make sure Alto gets where he's going so long as he wears a giant reaktorcorps propeller beanie in every comp. Let me know what ya still need.

Correct. The transfer fee is $.01/mile +$35 so a minimum of $85 ~$425/ for the miles he needs from 5 people (it's a maximum of 15k gifted per account, so he needs more than 1 person)

alto - you are better off talking cash donations and paying cash for a ticket

I just looked and it was $.01/mi + $35.00 transfer fee. So 15000 mi = $185.00 which I'd give up if folks want to chip in for some of the fees.

Since he has 24000 miles he would need 11000 more which would cost $145.00

is it the $5 per person time to help those out who are going to help Alto out defer some of the cost? 400+bones to help out is a LOT. MAYBE someone w/a company needs a good tax right-off, what better right off than to spanser a mag?

Hey Alto- wanna hang out at the euro comps? And whats your plan between the two?

I am getting a credit card and that *should* put me over the top for a skymiles ticket.

Thanks to all of you who posted, here's what I've decided to do...

Fly by the motherfucking seat of my motherfucking pants.

With my girlfriend's miles and my miles, I need about 24,000 more, as I said. One of the credit cards listed above gives 25,000, perfect! The problem is after activation is takes 6-8 weeks for the miles to post to your account I leave for Europe in about 7. This is a terrible fucking idea. Waiting till the week before a transatlantic trip to know if this plan will work out seems to be slightly different than what everyone has ever told me. But fuck it. It will work. If it doesn't I'll panic and post here immediately in a psychotic uber-rant nervous breakdown.

Soooo... What would prevent me from doing this would be finding someone with a buddy pass. The ticket would then only cost slightly more than transfering my girlfriend's 13000 miles to my account, and would also let me sleep at night.

Does anyone here work or have awesome friends who work in the airlines? Bueller?

PS - the transfer fees are just too much I feel... I mean to transfer the 37000 miles from a few different people would cost damn near a ticket. So wtf kind of deal is that? I guess I did poor research when I posted that idea originally, but thanks to all, big big thanks, to all who checked it out and posted. You rock.

    Truth has a great idea.

On another point, how much is the ticket itself, coach?

Give us numbers so we can see what we can do to get you there. Paypal funding maggots are out there, we know this.

What Buzz said, I have chipped in money several times to causes less worthy than seeing a maggot explode onto the scene.
How much do you need Alto and lets get this thing rolling.

    Edit: Nevermind. Been addressed.

I recommend getting a Paypal account that we can donate to. You can then use that money to just buy a goddamn ticket. Fuck United.

Let us know when you get a paypal account

If you throw a video together or something, it could help your cause as far as letting people know (I can send it to some of my friends that might be inclined to transfer a few bucks over).

    Ticket to Europe - $600.
    Transfer 37,000 miles @ $.01/mile, $370, plus $35 per transfer, guessing at 5 transfers, about $530.

Well fuck, SkyMiles aren't that sweet afterall...

Ok, lets do this. Sponsor a maggot with skymiles has just changed to:

SPANSER A MAGGOT WITH COLD HARD CASH

My name is Drew Tabke, I need to go to Europe to take back the International Freeskier Association world title from the Europeans. AMERICA, BITCH! Help fund this project to bring the big mountain title home.

I have a paypal account. Who can help? Your dollar is more than I have right now.

ps - I work on the streets too. Any ladies want to "indirectly donate" can find me on the corner of West Temple and 3rd South tonight.

I just did a quick search on SideStep.com for plane tickets but since I didn't have the exact dates in Feb the numbers will be a bit off but a decent ballpark. There were a handful of tickets from SLC to Geneva on United. When I flew to Verbier this is where we flew into and then trained it the rest of the way. Not sure about Les Arcs. The cheapest were $625, which isn't that bad and since it's on United you might be able to use part of your miles towards it and pay the difference? Anyone know the policy on doing that type of stuff?
