Some of you know that I ski in the IFSA big mountain ski competitions. Last year was somewhat of a breakthrough for me; I ended up tied for 3rd in the US tour and 12th in the world tour. This year I will be going after a higher showing on the world tour by skiing in competitions in Les Arcs, FRA, and Verbier, CH, both during February (in addition to Snowbird, Kirkwood, and if I make any money doing this back in Tignes, FRA in March).
The problem is, I am poor as fuck. I am a full time student at the U of U and haven't really been able to put any substantial savings together for this trip. Because of my showing last year, The North Face is giving me a small travel budget, but it is still nothing like what I need to make this trip happen.
So....
On United Airlines, a round-trip flight to Europe requires 50,000 sky miles. Between my girlfriend and I we have 26,000. If I can get 24,000 miles together, I can get the flight taken care of and be that much closer to representing for America, Utah, Maggots, Minions, and the whole lot on European snow.
SkyMiles is easy. All you need to do is register at United.com. If you have flown United recently you can still register and enter your flight information and receive the miles. Then you can give them as a gift to any other person who is registered on the system. Even a couple hundred miles is a huge help. So if you have or can get these SkyMiles, and don't mind sending them my way, I would be so. fucking. grateful.
