    Thumbs up Sponsor a Maggot

Some of you know that I ski in the IFSA big mountain ski competitions. Last year was somewhat of a breakthrough for me; I ended up tied for 3rd in the US tour and 12th in the world tour. This year I will be going after a higher showing on the world tour by skiing in competitions in Les Arcs, FRA, and Verbier, CH, both during February (in addition to Snowbird, Kirkwood, and if I make any money doing this back in Tignes, FRA in March).

The problem is, I am poor as fuck. I am a full time student at the U of U and haven't really been able to put any substantial savings together for this trip. Because of my showing last year, The North Face is giving me a small travel budget, but it is still nothing like what I need to make this trip happen.

    So....

On United Airlines, a round-trip flight to Europe requires 50,000 sky miles. Between my girlfriend and I we have 26,000. If I can get 24,000 miles together, I can get the flight taken care of and be that much closer to representing for America, Utah, Maggots, Minions, and the whole lot on European snow.

SkyMiles is easy. All you need to do is register at United.com. If you have flown United recently you can still register and enter your flight information and receive the miles. Then you can give them as a gift to any other person who is registered on the system. Even a couple hundred miles is a huge help. So if you have or can get these SkyMiles, and don't mind sending them my way, I would be so. fucking. grateful.

If you can help email or PM me... drew.tabke at utah dot edu

How about some Bros??? Made by a HAWAIIAN??????
Baba G is our layup man and he's from Maui.
You'll just have to wait until we get everyone who has paid taken care of....

You'll also have to wear a sticker or something on your helmet that says Powered by Maggot Love or something.

I want that sticker and I'm not a sticker guy. That would give all the little rug rats at our ski hill look at this older patroller with new found respect. If you make it they will buy!

Just a few more days before I place my order, hopefully, it all depends on my business.

If I've got miles on United they're yours. I'm sure I've got a couple thousand out there. The same goes for Frontier or America as well. Delta is what I use, but occasionally I'd have to take other airlines for work stuff and would sign up so I've got random miles on airlines I'd never use (un less they expire or something). I'll give united a call.

alto, you can get more than enough miles if you can qualify for a credit card.. got to this web site.....http://www.endlessgibberish.com/2006...om-united.html

read it then click on the link to see the application and terms.
i get a new credit card about every month, and each new card has given me 20,000 free bonus miles after i have made a purchase with the card.. i keep each card six months (so that the bonus miles are not withdrawn from my mileage plus account) then cancel it so that i never pay a yearly fee. i get my cards from chase bank, and the terms are slightly different than the firstusa card offer. i only have to make 1 purchase for any $ amount to get the bonus miles. i keep getting these new cards and i keep getting preapproved applications in the mail. i have received almost 200,000 miles in the past 12 months, and i am using these miles for all my trips to colorado this winter.
if you fail to qualify for any of the various credit card offers, i would be glad to help you out with a gift of a few thousand miles. check it out and good luck in the comps!!!!!!

alto, you have to have more than 5000 miles to transfer miles over. I just called. It's lame because I have 4,472 and miles sitting there and will more than likely not get used.

3rd on the US Tour and you still have to beg for money?

Skiing is such a dumb sport that way. If you were playing any other sport and did that well, you'd be a millionaire.

If it's retroactive, I could probably donate. I've flown United a bunch of times in the past couple years. I'd be happy to help out. Just need to stop being frazzled and remember to do this...

actually fuck the small business owners or any business owner. When you use any rewards cards that come out of the money the businessis suppose to get. So the credit card companies advertise its, they profit of it, the consumer gets "free" stuff, but the business pays for it. ITS fucking crap and you cant by law say no to reward credit cards. We have to shitty customers thoughs.

So for the Hi jack but just wanted everyone to know those rewards cards hurt businesses and dont get give me free market shit. he credit card companies have legallized scam going and no one cares.

Good luck altoon getting you stuff regardless, hope some people can help you out. Make sure you use those cards at Walmart and not at some sweet local business.

I would wear the sticker and you would not have to give me anything.

I did fly form ATL to YZH (Halifax, NS) this summer but never registerd. if I can figure out how to get those miles I will give them to you. Shoot me a pm to remind me tomorrow. Be glad to help.

Do you have a ski sponsor Alto? With your results I find that hard to believe. Contact Head, they seem to be all about sponsoring comp skiers and paying entry fees...

Sadly I have no miles to donate but if someone is donating more than 5000 as Meatdrink says is the requirement maybe try transferring to someone with a lower amount that is willing to donate so all the miles can help out instead of sitting with no one benefitting.

I just flew United to NYC last month and I have no use for those miles. If I can transfer them to you I will... What about MD9s talk of a 5000 mile minimum?

Let me know how to proceed...

I think lost in ak hit the nail on the head. Transfer your miles to those under 5000 and have them transfer the to Alto

If I had miles, i would help you out Alto

GREAT luck this season, rip it up for the mags!!!

You seem to be missing the point. You can't transfer miles unless it's 5,000 or more. I actually picked up the phone and called United. Believe me, I'm all for this. That's why I called...I was trying to give whatever I had away.

somebody should donate their miles to MD9 so he's over 5000, then he can give the whole lot to alto... does it work like that?

Might want to double check, but I remember reading somewhere that you can only be gifted a certain amount of miles per year. That'd suck to rally the troops for a busted cause.

MD9 I was suggesting that someone with more that 5000 transfer their miles to you and then you'll have at least 9400something which I believe to be greater than 5000 and you could transfer them to Alto. I may misunderstand however, are you saying that miles can only be transferred in 5000 mile increments?

So it's a minimum of 5,000 to transfer? Or, you have to have 5,000 to transfer any amount (even a few hundred)?

I pm'd Alto earlier that I'd give miles, I have 8,305 - not enough to get me anywhere or do anything with ... so I messaged to find out who to send them to.

    edit:
