I just got a new 30gb ipod (had a 1st generation before that).
My laptop shit the bed as well and I need to download my music, Can i take this ipod with my external harddrive to a friends computer and download the tunes so I can have music or will the screw up future downloads?

Why not just download from the computer?

Just a quick related headsup... Google IPODTOFOLDER and download the program from Longfingers... Great free application that will take the music off of a friends IPOD and place it on your computer/laptop/external drive...
