Not sure if anything has been posted about the comp today but the atheletes were going OFF!!
The newly opened venue in the Lower Burn Cliffs, at Snowmass really put on a great show. Massive hucks, nice spills and all around solid skiing was the story all day.
And what a day it was, High of 32 and bluebirdy all day.
Not sure who won yet, can't seem to find any info on it right now.
Jane had one of the most spectacular crashes all day, (she came out unscathed). Her line thru the triple jump was the burlyest of all the women and if she had stomped it, she would of crushed the competition She raggdoll starfished down a double cliffband and continue to fish all the way down the venue. She then had to hike back to the top to rescue her ski. I was shitting, hoping she was ok and she was, Jane was just bummed she fell.
I was very proud of her for her gutsy line choice.
Oh well, next week.
Good to meet Funken as well, he skied really strong for his first comp, not sure where she placed, but he incorporated a nice double jump with a solid 25 footer in there.
Next week, same time, same place. Different spot on the podium for Jane.

I've never had such an adrenaline rush in all my life as waiting at the top of the course for my turn to come up. That venue is insano!!!! There is only one "easy" way down. Everything else includes mandatory air.
Jane's run was awesome...far above what any other woman was trying and tougher than most of the men's snowboarder lines. I'm confident she'll nail it next week.
I think I am gonna have another go at it this week as well and I'll hopefully try something a bit larger.
Note: Now I know why it is so easy to get hurt at these things. (knock on wood) You go into a line and you think to yourself "I have to do this, no turning back now!" There is no time to stop and think or ask for someone to spot your landing. You just have to sack up and go for it. It is truely intense.
Signed up for Saturday's comp. Last year the comp I was in was snowed out, so I'm still a greenie. However the post-party was worth the effort. Hopefully you guys will get some snow up there to cushion my bombholes.
