Where to get touring bindings mounted near Boston?

Yeah, so Ski Haus and Summit charge $50 to mount touring bindings, which is absolutely nuts. Is there anywhere I can get them mounted for around $30 or less that won't screw up the mount? Also, I could drop them off on my way to Wachusett, Cannon, Jay Peak, or Wildcat and pick them up a week later, if that helps.

    Thanks.

50 is high, but I'd pay if Mike DeSantis (at Summit, former WC tech) was doing it. Ask if they have a jig, b/c I've been in the back and didn't see one.

    Ragged before IME IMO.

IME once dimpled all 12 screws on a G3/Dynastar BIG mount of mine.

Is Andes in Bartlett still around? They were always a great shop willing to hook it up.

DIY if they are Fritchi or Naxo.
plenty of threads here not to mention www.wildsnow.com

If you can't do it yourself, you have no right to bitch about the price.

    No

    Joe Jones bought them out.
Jeremiah is up at Wildcat now, I dunno where the rest of the guys went.

Those are the two suggestions that I was going to make. IME did a good job on a set of freerides for me last year but Jonathan's workshop is pretty pimpin'

If you're going to be up at Jay, I'm sure that First Trax could turn them around for you pretty quick. If you can get into Boston proper, Bob Smith's on Comm Ave did a good job on my Freerides. I don't know what they're charging these days, though.

Dallas - have you been there since it became Joe Jones? Anyone know if the same techs are still working there, or how they do with mounts?

I have wide jigs for Naxo, Diamir, Dynafit (also narrower jigs for Solly, Look/Rossi except older Pivot/Axial, and the M-bindings that are not allowed to be mentioned by name here) plus basically everything else (hole plugs, tap, the usual 3.5/3.8/4.1 bits, as well as 4.5 bit for massive metal race plates, longer xc bit, and maybe soon shorter jr bits for Icelantic skis that are just as ridiculously thin in their cross section as they are ridiculously short, wide, and curvacious, ugh).
I'm about 15 minutes from I-91 for anyone heading to VT from CT/NY/NJ. And as much as I hate to admit it in public, I'm at WaWachusett a couple times a weeks, skinning up on December & March midweek mornings before the lifts start running, then running gates in Jan & Feb on Wed mornings from 7-9 (when the lift runs only for us, oh yes!) and beer league on Thu night (when all of Boston, Worcester, and Providence shows up, ugh).
I am not a shop or business of any kind though, so I'm just letting people make use of this equipment, not charging for services or anything like that.

Miah is at the Cat now and will do work. The rest of the techs are still at the same shop (Joe Jones) that was Andes.
    Ragged also does good work.

I haven't been in since the switch, but the guy who did all my mounts for the last 10 years (Jack) is still there and is still presumably still doing good work.

Awesome. So when do you think you will at Wawa in the next week or two? I could be there monday night, wednesday night, or thursday morning next week. I might be doing some sort of dawn patrol next thursday morning if it snows down here like the forcasts are talking about.

EMS did NOT fuck up my 7tm mount on my rock skis.
    YMMV

Touring Binders? They wanted 50 for alpines. Joe Jones Mountain Outfiters/Andez hooked me up cheap last spring. FYI the original owner Andy was the shop tech at Jack Frost in Jackson last season. He did sweet tunes for around $20. Find your way through the fur to the basement. Well worth it.
