could be me too... I've got some Praxis on the way, I figure if I don't get them mounted in time for my trip next week, we should be good... just to be clear on this, I have to TRY and get them mounted, then get a call that they aren't ready to go right before I leave for Tahoe to fully reverse the curse right!?!

I'm gearing up at rose summit right now for a run.
The jinx is up to and over the tops of the guardrails in some spots on 431.

I strained ligaments of my SI and LS region and had physical therapy on Friday and today. Kidwoo and I are having a synergistic effect for you maggs.

I'll still hit Squaw this weekend.

I got three new pairs of skis, a new sled, and moved back to Tahoe from SLC. So you can blame it all on me. But I did you guys a favor and left town for a week, so at least you'll get a little snow while I'm gone.

at least you have snow........ bare ground on every resort in VT except for a little bit of manmade. Not even Mt. Mansfield, the highest peak in VT has any natural. Bumming big time.

Hey, don't know if you're gone this week, but I am too, so if you could go to the desert or something next week as well, that'd be great....

and seriously, 3 new pairs of skis and a sled? definitely not my fault guys. blame this guy ^^^^^

Yeah, the NOAA is calling for -1 F lows this week in South Lake, which is pretty damn cold for Tahoe. So which resort will start blowing snow on the steeps

based on what we found on gunbarrel today, this storm didn't really deliver much. or actually it did deliver, but then was blown away. where i worked today in the meyers flats there was almost a foot of snow. but looking at all the ridgelines like echo/flagpole and tallac, there really wasn't much accumulation up high. of course it all blew somewhere, but unless the leeside base has been enhanced w/ snowguns, its still not anywhere near enough to ski on. oh well, the groomers should be pretty fun at the heave if they could get it groomed before it blew away.

Sad news gimpy. I was looking forward to the first Tahoe TR.
Even if it was poaching Gunbarrel.
Your October 2004 opening at Kirkwood deserves a redux. Maybe next year.

None of the ski resorts are reporting that. Sugar Bowl is reporting 6-8", Squaw = 6-8" at ele. 8200, Alpine = 7-10", Kirkwood = 4-6", and Mt. Rose with a disappointing 3-5".

I'd have to agree (unfortunately ) with hucka...10-12" of blower on top of 4-5" (at most) of concrete ice is not going to open squaw...if they can get their &^*# together with snowmaking...I think the most we can hope for is funitel/mountain run this wekend...10 day looks dry too...

That may be, but the NOAA remote is still showing a 14" increase in snow depth at the base since Sunday.

Patience paid off to wait until Tuesday morning for the Gunbarrel / East Bowl skin and ski.....if only just a little. Some of last nights windblown stuck to the run and made for 6" of soft pow for the top 1/3. It was hit and miss below that, but we were mostly able to find soft turns. Ja Surf and Gimpy's tracks were all filled, so we felt like pioneers.

Of course Zippy was still asleep 200 yards from where we started skinning. Obviously he's not interested in powder this year Although he did sneak up to the lifts to ride with the fellow bros.

    Tallac looking dangerous and desperate:

Hopefully a little warm weather hits us before the next storm to consolidate this uber dry and fluffy.

    Fack Dude !
Are you like a Test Dummy for dirt-jump landings ?
When do you expect to be skiing, then ? ( Or is it boarding ?)

We're supposed to be at Alpine on Saturday, 2nd...
It could be worse, they could have been open all week, talk about tracked out. There might still be some week-old-untouched...a square foot or two

He mentioned KT - and your date proves my point. Even on that HUGE early season year KT opened December 10th 2004.

Well, I will be honest, I was just scared of the bush that kicked Sierra's ass this morning leaving him complaining all day. So i just stuck to the SICK groomers and rails.

Yeah I've been having some pretty bad luck this year with boo boos.

It's a 2nd degree separation which isn't the end of the world. I did my other one last spring and was skiing within a week and a half. Not bright but possible. If you guys are in town I may come up there depending on how it feels. I owe you like the entire bar's worth of beer anyway.

Get ahold of me towards the end of the week.
