we have about 6 - 8'' so far up here in Tahoe Donner, and this storm is projected to not go much further south than Hwy 50...so K'Wood might get skunked on this one. take that Cohee

those "nothing south of 50 predictions rarely seem to pan out" but Im starting to think that it doesn't matter anyway, 18" of blower over kirkwood rock is big trouble.

Mammoth got skunked on this one too. If the storm had held together, KW still would not be skiable but it might have opened Chair 4. I don't hold much hope for much accumulation from the instability showers Monday, and the next week will form a strong ridge.

If another storm approaches the area, here's hoping the maggots know better than to post more forecasts.

also, if your talking about what I thin your talking about what are the possibilities of a chair running there?

Next weekend I'll be skiing Squaw. That's all that matters.

God damn , that's some negativity! It's downright dumping at my house on rose now , at 7500 feet. a good 6" in the banana belt here overnight and looking very wintery.

i'm sure you're thinking of the same thing that i'm thinking (especially since its the only line w/ a base that exists in town right now). the heave is on windhold this am so i'm kinda thinking bout hitting it today and dp manana. anybody down shoot me a pm. as far as the chair opening tomorrow, i think its totally possible and maybe even likely. but for me the allure will be gone. its the shit when it all yours and the pooches can come. a couple years ago i hiked it before the chair opened for the 1st time and buddy and i had it all to ourselves as the mob of peeps were riding up the chair hooting and hollering w/ a few mumblings of how the f...did they get up there before us. good times

we have at least a foot or more at the house here in tahoe donner over the last 24 hours, so alpine and squaw should have gotten more. with another 6"-8" forecast today-tmrw, and then super cold temps through thurs, alpine will open on Fri as scheduled. Not a lot to ski (this was a cold storm, we need some of that sticky cement to plaster all the rocks!), but Fri I will be there for opening day (better than working, that's 'fo sure)

    Angry

When I buy a new board the surf turns shit. I bet the same rule applies to snow.

Maybe if I burn these 06/07 Gotamas that showed up at my doorstep we'll get a decent storm.
