I had this as a separate post, but....
My story in four short parts, though not necessarily in chronolgical order:
I, too, skied at The Canyons today:
Unfortunately I missed boarderline - sorry. Hooked up with some kids from Provo as we were all hiking for some turns in the days-old powder. I got two great runs - Easter Bowl and McDonalds - before heading for the office at about 1 PM.
I tripled the number of maggots I know today!
I met Midget and rode a couple of chairs with him as we were catching up to Powstash and Xover. Powstash introduced me to Xover; the three of them were on their A/T gear and they headed into the back country. It was nice to meet Midget and Xover, even if we didn't ski together.
In response to phUnk's question about meeting goals this season:
Carrying decent speed, I dropped off an eight to ten foot cornice today. I suspect my style points weren't very high as I damn near went over the bars when I landed, but I quickly gathered myself up and made turns to the bottom of the pitch. Small sack? Yes. But some is better than none and it felt good.
I'm not superstitious, but it is Friday the 13th.
I got to The Canyons and didn't have my pass. As luck would have it, I ran into my Valentine in the parking lot and she offered me one of the precious few comp tickets she gets for the season. Riding up the gondola with some nice tourists, I jokingly commented about the start of my Friday the 13th. Whereupon one of them told me we were riding in car number thirteen . . . sure enough. The humor was not lost on me.
It sounds like the three Musketeers had a great time in the back country today; can't wait to see the photos. Hopefully I be able to join you next time.

A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly. Specialization is for insects.
