mhw compressor pl v. micropuff pullover

I asked this in another thread, but the thread was pretty much dead.

anyone have opinions on the mountain hardwear compressor pl jacket?
im debating between that and the pat micropuff pullover.

it will be used as insulation for skiing and also to keep me warm walking around campus when its not raining/snowing.

i like that the mhw has pockets, but i like pullovers for insulation, and the pat is a bit lighter. are they relatively the same warmth? one breathe better?

    thanks

I have not tried or even seen the MHW Compressor. I have a Patagucci Micropuff pullover. I love the micropuff. It was female I'd marry it. If it was male, I'd move to vermont with it and have a civil union. If it was a sheep, I'd move to Wales with it. It's just that good.

I wear it basically everyday for bike commuting to school in the winter and as an insulation layer or lightweight belay jacket when ice climbing. Spring through fall I stuff it in the bottom of my pack for rock climbing.

It blocks the wind, packs down small, and dries out quickly. I don't think I'll ever wear fleece again.

I think I have the compressor (not sure since I bought it at a clearance event and the name isn't on it) and it's my favorite jacket. Superwarm, very comfy, nice and compact, I can't think of a thing wrong with it. I think you're all set either way, but the pockets are nice for relaxing around town with it.

i have a compressor and wear it with an arcteryx shell. Keeps me warm to thirty below zero quit easily when worn with a good base layer and a thin fleece.

I'm 6'2" and 155 (I know, eat more). I wear a medium. I've tried on a small, and although do-able it was snug and the sleeves rode up when I put my hands over my head.

The M sleeves don't ride up? I'm an inch or two shorter and more than a few pounds heavier, and the M rides up for me.

When I lift my arms in the medium the waist rides up a bit. For me that happens with all but the best fitting/designed jackets. (or ones that are simply too damn big)

When I lift my arms in the small the jacket is too snug in the chest for the waist to really rise. Instead, the sleeves ride up my arms, exposing my wrists. Also, the sleeve length in the small is just a bit too short for my arms.

If you don't mind losing a little steez the integral designs plq is lighter and warmer, plus you can order custom sizing (a huge plus for me), fwiw...
