    Völkl sumo vs gotama

    Hi!
I have a little porblem. I will buy pure powder skis, but I don´t know which one. My details are: height 173cm and weight 70kg. I have skiing about 20 years. My style to ski is little bit old =) So I keep my skis very close to each other. Now I have elan m777 skis with length 176cm. I ski a lot in Finland, but next spring i´m going to Whistler.
So I realy need help to choose between these:
    sumo 175cm
gotama 176cm or 183cm (old model or new one?)

    And sorry for my english=)

For a pure powder ski, neither of those two should be at the top of your list. But if i had to choose one for pow only, I would probably go for the Sumo.

Oh and using the search function could really help! This topic has been covered before.

Both skis will work in Pow. If you ski with legs close together, the Sumos may be a pain becuase of the width.

Gotama is really "short" due the huge twin, if you choose it, go for 183cm definately. It will work also here in Finland just fine, well up here at least, maybe not the weapon of choice for talma glacier

I'm same size as you are and took 190 Gotamas, this year's model. They measure 186 cm standing against the wall and have 161 cm running length. Definetely go with 183's if you end up to Gotama. I'd like to think that you/we will have some use for Gotamas in our skating rinks we call hills but Sumos are pretty useless here. Of course if you're buying a ski for powder only... but there's plenty of float in Gots too.

Keep in mind your length options on the Sumo are only 175 and 190. The ski would be sick for sure, that is a pure powder board for sure.

The got is rad, but not really a "pure pow board".
