I would probably just pop for a new one.

BCA just replaced my 8 year old one, no questions asked. The switch was kind of sticking and it wouldn't alway go into search mode. Thats a great company and I will be using there products for a long, long time.

Word, you've got to ? BC partners that want to save $25 and potentially compromise my safety.

If it was old or well used, I wouldn't have brought it over.

$25? - at 380 list (300 on sale) it's more like $50 than $25 involved. (Where are you finding new for $275 ?)

Are you sure the list is $380? I've seen the Tracker for sale in over 10 stores -- all at $300. I bought mine for $300...

Buying someone elses beacon is like buying a used helmet - definitely a sketchy proposition. You don't know where its been or what has happened to it.

My bad - 380 is a price in Great Britan, converted from Euros.
300 is typical price for domestic US.

Yes, buying this would be a risk, but as long as it passes self-test and a range/function test upon reciept it's no more likely to break in use than a new one.
FWIW, the Helmet analogy doesn't work for me. Helmets get a LOT of abuse in normal operation, beacons not so much.
No way would I buy a used lid, but both of the used beacons I bought work just fine.

Please note, that I am not the seller, just trying to help folks who might be looking for one.

So : Anyone who's interested in a beacon, follow the link, contact the seller, and satisfy yourself as to trustworthyness.
