    Tahoe Sucks for Thanksgiving

    WTF?

Just spoke to a Patroller @ Heavenly and they are not opening this week after projecting to open today, then it was delayed until tomorrow, now its not till next week. Not that I am that stoked on Heavenly but it was something.

And after looking at Kwoods webcam... that looks promising. Yeah, the week of 11/20... and here we are on the 22

So point being, unless you are down for some good downhill biking, dont come to Tahoe anytime soon. You will be disappointed.

I am going to go cry and listen to Morrissey now

They're rock at Mammoth, I hear Broadway is killer right now (they are calling the White Ribbon of Death). All of Cali sucks, we need snow.

Don't fret. When those gates open, you won't remember what it was like when it wasn't snowing. This is meant to be a very, very, very, very wet year - through to May/June.

This is all my fault. My move isn't totally finished so I had all the start dates pushed back until I'm in town full time. Sorry about that.

I actually feel better...I have no mountains or snow. I think it would be worse to have mountains with no snow that to be a flatlander with no expectation. Planes fly to the snow from Chciago every hour.

Yeah, it snowed a little and then it rained all the way through the end of December. But yes, it did come eventually. The only question is can I keep the butter knife away from my wrists until then?

I think Colorado has me all fucked up. I see al of these great TR's and I think we are getting skunked but its only November, Ill save my crying for December if there is still no snow. 2 or 3 good storms and we will have more snow than CO gets all year, why because The Sierras Rock!! Cmon funny feeling

I've been using a wooden spoon. It's much slower and painful than the butter knives plus you have the added bonus of splinters.

It's not even worth it for a Mammoth run like last year is it? Is it??

FWIW, you can get to crystal or baker in about the same amount of time. FF miles? greydon would be so pleased to see his tyrone in the apple state...and if couch space isn't a favorite option, I'm sure I could set you and the mrs. up with a pimp room in the city

That might work for a bicycle hucker like you...but for many of us riding the bike is at best about 0.257% as much fun as skiing a groomer

Every bike is more fun than skiing early season groomer crap. (I think......I forget)

    Borrow one of mine.

I'm here to help.............you crouch over a bike that's too small and ruins your back.

Ja: I've got a buddy going up on friday I was thinking of joining......could make it saturday I guess. I've been building on a trail with a crew that wants to get it finished before the big snows so it's got a winter on it before we ride. Decisions decisions. Let me know if you're definitely going.

I just got back from an early morning hike with the dog off Donner Summit - cool, windy and no snow (except a dusting up high)....but NWS calling for a dusting tonight and more snow on Sun/Mon....

this is typical for this time of year, we just need one to two big Sierra whoppers to get things going....they will come, soon, I can feel it in my bones...

In the mean time, anyone going to the Squaw Valley Film Festival Fri night?
