    Targhee is screwed!

Well last year they opened with 25 in. but it's at 38'' now and they say they want 12 more to open, no major snow in the forecast and unless they change their mind I think it'll be at least 2 weeks before another good storm hits. anyone have any guessess for what day it'll open? Personally I think it'll be a bad year, after last year, all the goodness is gone.

Way to stay positive buddy. A bad year at the Ghee, I'm sure is a lot better than a good year at most resorts.

that's the way to be positive and I thought your first thread was stupid. The season is just starting and the Ghee will get pounded - mark my words.

looks like we're all screwed. i know i'm going to hang up the boards and take out the bikes because the season's obviously over before it started.

i'm pretty sure we'll have at least a few good days...some good days have been had already.

Dibs on whatever doesn't suck, but this guy probably thinks all of his gear sucks.

Time to take a deep breath. Wow.

In my purely anecdotal observations, warm autumns make for good snow years. I remember on Thanksgiving Day in 97-98 (a very big year here) I was cleaning the BBQ at something like 10 AM in a tee shirt. Even last year late November was pretty dry and reasonably warm.

In years when it is sub zero on T Day just aren't that great for skiing.

I'll take these warm days without complaint. And then hope for the best.

I can't speak for Wyoming, but this date last year we didn't have any more snow than we have now in Utah.

Then, November 30th and December 1st it started dumping.

    It'll come.

I feel SO sorry for you poor bastards. You live in ID/WY, you can choose between the Ghee, the Village, or the pass, and it just sucks out there in general. This is the sweet love that I have to look forward to (FOR THE REST OF MY FVCKING LIFE!!!!):

uhhh, so fucking move man. get the hell out of hell.

and cliff hucker, would it make you feel any better if big sky is currently more likely to open thier downhill mtb trails than thier ski trails? Seriously, a 38" base, just to hike for turns, sounds like heaven now.

No... Don't risk injuring yourself early season on the pass with these conditions. Early turns aren't really worth missing an epic season because you fucked your knee up or something.
