I bought a 5 mountain pass this year but with only spats and an AT setup mounted and ready to go right now there really isn't any point in my going inbounds. For the past 3 days this week, and 2 other days last week I've found myself at everyones favorite Colorado road hit (no not Sol Vista) and had a blast every day. Today we took a couple of runs. The first was down the front side, over the aqueduct, and into the same area where iskibc set off a small slab last week (the slide and all those lines we had filled back in). No chance of anything sliding today though...
Frontside fun for my snowboarding friend:
The level of detail in that tree is simply amazing:
Then we decided to head up here:
And ski this again:
Our lines are the two lowest. I jumped over his track at the very bottom of the runout. See if you can follow my line up to the drop I did and the rock I uncovered on my landing. Don't you just love it when you don't feel a thing when you land and think all is well with the world until you turn around? Me too. (we shared this line with a mag I've never met and his dog, I forgot his screen name but drop me a PM if you see this)
We then decided to climb straight back up to the ridge above Russell and work on our butters on the windbuff up top (and I'm working on my lightroom steeze):
Once we nailed those we dropped in here:
Which actually kind of sucked so we cut hard left over the ridge and found much better snow inbetween the rocks in the middle of the pic:
After that we decided we needed more of a workout so we headed far skiers left, hiked over the ridge, and skied into 2nd Creek. I have no pictures from 2nd creek worth showing because sometimes you don't really want to stop in the middle of a high-speed pow run in the best snow of the day to take a pic. Please accept my apology.
