MOM, there's Chicken on the rug!!! - Jack McFarland
My buddy is from that area. 45 min. drive from his house, and he lives in Canada, basically.
Is that place as sweet as it looks? Not western skiing, but I wouldn't mind having it 45 min. from me.
I like living where the Ogdens are high enough so that I'm not everyone's worst problem.- YetiMan
Whoa, that place has "EXTREME BACKCOUNTRY" and "Extreme Pix" it must be um... Extreme?
45 mins from bohemia is the houghton/lake linden area.
A lot of people say "that's pretty much Canada, huh?" when I describe where I live. I imagine that's what's happening here. It's kind of a pet peeve of mine -- No, it isn't really that close to Canada. There's a lot of places a lot closer to Canada, say....Detroit. Or Cleveland. It's a loooooong-ass drive to Canada from Houghton. If by "Canada" you mean "really far North" then...ok, sure, we're really far north, kind of like Canada.
Anyways, I thought you all would be interested if up North in Wisconsin or Michigan...

That "deal" has been around for a few years now. That is truly all that place is worth...$99. I have had some of my best skiing days ever at that place (west included). But that place is really only worth skiing 5 to 10 days out of the season.....
The owner is a twat.
Thats a good deal for sure! Even if you never ski it is still worth it, I mean just to be able to use the ice rink, the tubing hill, spa, sleigh rides, and the the indoor water park! If you do decide to ski, the grooming is immaculate, high speed lifts whisk you to the top in no time at all, and they even have complimentary hot chocolate and cookies! What more could you ask for! Be sure to stick around for apres ski, the nightlife is off the hook!
