I'm getting new boots, smaller boots. Going from a 325 sole to a 315.....I believe (28.5 to a 27.5 both salomons). I could easily move the heel piece on my looks, meaning I still have just as much tip in front of the toe, but my midsole would be slightly further forward. Add into the considerations that the mount would be free. I will also be remounting my foils (more significant move) and am interested in a potential binding swap. Right now the spats have some p12 ti's to keep them lightand the foils have 914's. I've never loved the feel of the p12's, just feels like there's a certain amount of travel, and not the lock down of the salomons. Is this feeling exagerated by the spats width and shape? Do spats just feel funny? I've skied salomon bindings my whole life and everytime I've clicked into the spats in the past two years they just feel funny. Is it the anticipation of spatula + pow = goodness?
So in conclusion, is it worth the extra holes to get my midsole dead on? Will the 914's have less lateral elasticity than p12's on spats. Will the p12's feel funny on my more frequently used foils. Would tossing a pair of px 12's I have laying around result in a more 'locked in feel' on the spats? Should I just sell everything, give the money to battered women and ski my 188 stiffs with naxo21's?
