Large, occasionally clean, walls.
Down the beach a little ways, it was peaking up nicely.
A few mini tubes, as long as you stay crouched and fast down the line.
Hard to say no to swell like that.

Another good Saturday morning session this weekend. Pete, did you get out?
Yup, got out Saturday morning as well - was fun but a little disappointing after last week's 8 ft at 14 sec swell - I felt so spoiled (like the damn west coasters feel almost weekly)!!!

Maine (and all of New England) should give much thanks to this storm, delivering the goods on Turkey Day and again today!
Turkey Day was chest-head high, with some larger sets, and quite fun, with the buoy reading around 6 ft at 10-11 sec. Today was head to headX1.5 (buoy at 10 ft at 12 sec), with screaming offshores and incredibely good shape - somewhat tough to get into them at times though.
With all the recent swell we've been having, I feel like I live on the west coast!!
Sorry, no pics of course...always forget to throw the damn camera in the car! New Englanders go get some!

Stupendous Saturday, pics to follow. Not even that cold, with strong offshores.
In the interest of approaching "action" photography, this quick pic is from yesterday. My cameraman is still working on her shot selection. A different pic would have revealed better conditions, though nothing like Saturday's.
Not bad when you can work up a sweat in a 5/4, though I always hate how thicker suits make you feel weak at first.
Image of this past Sat afternoon leftovers in southern Maine. Low tide, overhead, offshore, and clean...and no takers. Tasty.
Sun was setting (we're in the 4 pm sunset stage...sucks!) and my digi camera and the light sucked, so I tried to enhance the lighting and it turned out grainy. Oh well...

The only thing worse than the feeling that you are going to die is the realization that you probably won't.
so warm last weekend. winter suits are so restrictive at first.
will be in maine tomorrow, visiting friends. may be there will be some left overs????

Unfortunately, wouldn't bet on it. The offshores have probably crushed anything left from this morning. This morning was quite fun, but the swell has dropped substantially (down to 2 ft). Maybe some longboardable waves in the morning...

Tap tap tap. "Honey, are you going to use the camera today? I'd really like to offload some pictures."
"Yes, I left the camera at work. I'll bring it home tonight."
...
"So, did you take any pictures today?"
"No, I forgot, so I left the camera at work."
Repeat x10. I'm working on it.
