i dont use them. If i know that I can be by a computer at the time the auction ends and i have good internet(broadband) i just open a new window and get all they way to the final confirm screen with my max bid. In the old window just watch the time left get down to ~5seconds, then push your bid through.

I use esnipe every day. It's one of the best however you can't modify your bid with less than 5 minutes left. If the item is really important you need to watch it end. You can control your bid to 1 second for maximum surprise
