Today was sick, diary.
I'm going to reserve this thread for my photo-less but postable TRs. A type of informative forum of Loveland/SuCo discussion.

I left SUPER early (and by super early I mean like 6 30), anticipating road difficulties. Squatch just couldn't get his ass in the car (or even out of bed), so I left him, psyched to ski the 4 INCHES OF GNARRRR!!!
Rolled up to Loveland right about the 8 am mark (roads were surprisingly easy), and the wind was HOWLING from the northwest. I anticipated a shitshow on chair 1 (and was correct) but skied Nix Nox and Spillyway a couple times, each of which had about 6-8" fluffy stuff (none of that nasty wet PNW snow from October). I went over to chair 2 to check out the bump run, and visibility was NOT. Freakin' couldn't tell if I was moving or not at some times. However, the snow was damn good. Boottop deep in most places. Knee deep in a few.
Shit skier's left on 6 was scoured as fuck, whereas skier's right was $$$. Visibility was bad, but the trees that they did open provided the goods and enough visibility to ski without feeling imminent doom every turn.
It dumped ALL DAY. And the wind blew ALL DAY. I actually had to go inside to buy a gaper mask just to keep the frostbite at bay on chair 2.
I went in for lunch at about 12 30. I was COLD. Glad I went in because, otherwise, I would have been lapping chair 6 entirely clueless of what would happen thereafter. Some dude just turns to me and says "they're gonna drop the rope under 1". Time to pack the hell up and get on chair 1.
Quick synopsis: 5th man down avalanche bowl. Face shots. Waist deep. Fucking sick. Beatered. Lost shoe. Collected shoe in frenzy. Struggled to put on shoe and repeated.
During this process, Yossarian observed my beater steeze and we met up for a single lap. I had to head out for sticking people with needles. His self-proceeding reputation as a rad dood is accurate.
Surprisingly, again, the roads were super easy to drive on coming down. I didn't feel at all sketchy at 50 mph the whole way down. Roads were dry past Idaho Springs.
Moral of the story: today was good. Tomorrow has the potential to be better, aside from rope dropping. If you can ski Loveland tomorrow...
GET DA FUCK DOWN HEA'!!!
If you haven't seen this video, watch that shit. The picture will then be funny.
Stay on east facing shit. That's where the goods are. Glad to see they opened some steeper shit today, as it was difficult to pick up much speed on what's open on 2 and 6. Albeit 2 closed about mid-day for wind hold.
Thursday is Keystone. The camera will be put to use. Good to make some turns with you finally, Yoss.
Sorry about the lack of pictures, but SOOOOMEbody didn't want to ski today.![]()
