Be careful out there everyone!
This touchy-feely Kumbaya shit has got to go.
Glad everyone is OK thus far.
Anybody heard from Xover yet?
Balls Deep in the 'Ho
Since the mountain didn't get him...I'm gonna kick his arse!!! Heed the warnings my friend and future father!!!
Lloyd is one of my best pal e O's and West too. We just celebrated a great 30th for West and this goes to show that it is way too early to be out risking when it is not necessary. Props to the crew for being prepared.

Holy shit, that's wierd. I was just looking at the latest BackCountry catalog tonight and was noticing some pics taken by Steve Lloyd, then I read this. I don't know him but I'm glad to hear he appears to be okay. Be careful out there!
Saw this shit on the news when i came down from LCC...
Really glad everyone is alright...
Stay safe everyone.
Glad to hear everyone is OK.

Wow - wasn't expecting to see that kind of news when I logged on tonight. Glad all are OK.
After driving to SLC around 5pm and hearing on KSL that it was Steve (they had an interview with Jason) I figured Xover was likely with them. Called him but didn't get an answer and figured he either was screening my calls again or he was in the thick of it.
C'mon guys, listen to the voice inside.
Sure glad I didn't lose a friend to the mountains today. Stoked you're all ok.

phew, wow, please be safe, maggots!
Very glad to hear everyone's okay!
"Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming, "Wow, what a Ride!"
Saw a short interview with Steve this morning on KUTV. He looked pretty good for being buried under 4 feet of snow yesterday! HUGE props to Xover and Jason for a perfectly executed rescue. The preliminary report said the slope slid while they were climbing back up to the ridge.

It's like I died and went to heaven, but then it turned out it wasn't my time, and they sent me to a brewery.

note to self: beacon practice this wknd.
glad everyone is ok.
Whew. I hate reading threads like this. +vibes+ to the families of those involved.
Call me a pussy, but this sure makes me reconsider how much time I will spend in the BC. No matter how knowledgeable you are, there is always a tremendous risk. I would hate to widow my wife and kids, just because I lust for a BC whiteroom.

Glad to hear everyone's ok. Looking at the bright side of this, I think that the news report was good. The general public needs to know that carrying all the right gear WILL save your life. The news reported that they were experienced and prepared. The decision making process is another story. Good job guys, you took a risk and knew what to do when the risk caught up with ya.
Props to these guy's for being well trained and well equiped, and for being honest about any mistakes made.
bc jong here, but being honest about your training, experience and picking partners you trust, is everything.
Glad everyone is all right.
Gives me a pit in my stomache. Glad all are ok.
The thing that I get out of this thread is how the people invloved admit to ignoring warning/danger signs and then get props for executing the perfect rescue.
Not pointing fingers or trying to start shit at all. Please don't take it that way.
Be safe all.

News said winds were nuking at over 100 MPH+ on the ridgetops with the last storm. That's some serious windloading. Glad Steve and the crew are all ok.
