Most Secure Binding Mount?

I''ve got some ideas for a binding system that I want to mess around with. I'm clearly qualified to do this - I've never even mounted a set of bindings.

What is the most secure method of mounting bindings? Is it the basic method, or is the heli-coil route even more sturdy? I'd like to use metric hardware, and I think metric heli-coils are available.

Only sold in inch widths but you could cut down to a metric size.

make bindings for different width skis, like a 80mm, 90, 100, 110. Just piture the salomon toepiece mated to a different width base, that will increase transmission of power and edging. As for physically mounting, no reason to stray from the current normal method, unless you mabye wanted to go to inserts in skis....

Most secure? Drill all the way through the base and insert t-nuts.
